I suspect the NRL has asked Nine to put the NRL finals on the main channel in Melbourne now that they know Nine can’t get the AFL until 2032 at least?
Or is the AFL rights announcement just a coincidence?

Given Nine is committed to show the AFL Footy Show telethon next Thursday, it may have to show double episodes of The Block on Tuesday or Wednesday, to ensure the reveal episode will air on the following Sunday (September 25).
Nine could also move the Monday Block to either 9Gem or 9GO!
I don’t think they would want to schedule an episode against the funeral.

9 News will be delayed tonight in Eastern States due to the NRL Elimination Final running overtime.
This should boost Sydney and Brisbane News ratings but will definitely hurt Nine News’s ratings in Melbourne.

Tonight Nine News Late will continue until midnight when Nine will cross to Sky News for “Remembering Queen Elizabeth II”. After a break for an hour at 2am Sky News will again pickup until Today starts at 5am.
Wednesday The Queen’s Final Journey will be shown from 9:40 pm AEST LIVE all markets on Nine or 9Gem depending on market.
Update:
The Queen Obituary and The Queen at 90 will be shown on Saturday from 7:30 pm on Nine or 9Gem depending on market.
