So it looks like we’ll get at least a few more hours out of the current Cricket Test match in comparison to the last one.

Has Nine released any indication of what they might program when the Cricket ends early?

What are Nine airing in Q2?

We know Seven & Nine aren’t going to go head to head with ‘renovation’ again, severely affecting the ratings last year. Leaving Ten’s MasterChef sky high.

We also know Nine will only be doing one season of The Block (probably at the end if the year), following declining ratings.

So what’s the next big show AFTER Australia’s Got Talent?

The Voice.

That’s incorrect. Seven have already filmed the third season of House Rules and decided to keep it from airing against The Block late last year. It will most likely screen in Q2 against Masterchef. We just don’t whether Nine will screen The Voice against Masterchef too as they did in 2014 or whether they will save it for later as they did in 2015.

Matt and Kim’s breathtaking renovation - with a gift never seen before on Australian television

Australia fell in love with them when they took on The Block Sky High in 2013 and returned to The Block Triple Threat last year. Now, Perth’s Matt and Kim return with their own show – Matt and Kim to the Rescue on Thursday, January 21, at 7.30pm on Channel Nine.

Matt and Kim will team up with an army of tradies, businesses and local heroes to deliver an incredible full home makeover in just four days, which will change the lives of a deserving Aussie family. However, this time a renovation alone will not be enough to give the Nguyen-Le family hope for the future.

For over 10 years, Hung Nguyen-Le has been fighting for his life. Initially diagnosed with kidney cancer, he’s been on a rollercoaster ride in and out of treatment and remission. Unable to work, the family lost their business and are unable to pay their bills and mortgage each month. His diagnosis is now terminal.

Hung will leave behind his loving wife of 18 years, Tracey, and their three beautiful boys – Peter (15), Mathia (7) and Gerard (4). Not only will Tracey and their sons face a life without Hung, but also a bleak financial future with no solution in sight.

In this emotionally charged one-hour special, Matt and Kim to the Rescue will fulfil a father’s final wish for his family. It’s a story of generosity, love and commitment by an amazing team of volunteers. The renovation encounters every obstacle possible including torrential rain, but the results are breathtaking.

Matt said: “It was chaos the whole time, and the goals we set were ridiculous. There was asbestos in pretty much every room of the house, but the end result is just amazing.”

Matt and Kim’s final surprise for the family will give them new hope for the future, with a breathtaking gift never seen before on Australian television.

“It’s an absolute tear-jerker and one of the most amazing moments in my life,” Matt said.

Is the Friends reunion going to air in Australia? If it does, will it air on Nine?

###WA Stands Together: The Nine News Bushfire Appeal

Wednesday 20 January from 7.30pm

Nine Perth will broadcast a special community event to assist the victims of the recent bushfires in the state’s south-west – WA Stands Together: The Nine News Bushfire Appeal on Wednesday, January 20, from 7.30pm.

Nine Perth Managing Director, Ray Wardrop, believes this is an important time for all West Aussies to stand together and dig deep.

He said: “Nine Perth and the Nine Network want to stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of the south-west who have been affected by this devastating fire and the best way to do this is to take our viewers into their community and to help raise funds to rebuild their towns.”

The broadcast, hosted by Nine News Perth’s Tim McMillan, will be live from various locations in the state’s south-west and Perth.

“We’ll be talking to people who’ve had their lives changed in the past week and we’ll hear their stories. We’re also flying in performers from all over Australia to provide fantastic entertainment as well as some of the Nine Network’s biggest stars,” Mr Wardrop said.

Music legend Daryl Braithwaite, Perth singer-songwriter Samantha Jade, ARIA chart-topper Taylor Henderson and blues great Rick Steele and his daughter Katie Steele from Little Birdie will be among the entertainers to join the appeal and perform live.

On behalf of the TODAY Show team, Richard Wilkins will be on location in the south-west, along with local stars including Matt and Kim from Matt and Kim to the Rescue, The Block’s Luke and Ebony, The Hotplate’s Christina and Tania, and WA farmer Matt from the upcoming series of The Farmer Wants a Wife.

Viewers can donate during the telecast by calling the Sunday Times Phone Room on
1800 133 333.

Viewers will also have the opportunity to place a bid in a special Sunday Times Phone Room auction. A selection of amazing items will be presented, including a New York fashion week experience which consists of return economy class airfares, a VIP tour of the Victoria’s Secret head office by the president of the company, attending a photo shoot and having a professional portrait taken. Viewers will also get the chance to bid on American pop and country music singer Taylor Swift’s 1989 signed acoustic guitar.

WA Stands Together: The Nine News Bushfire Appeal will broadcast live on Nine Perth and across the regional WIN Network.

Just saw a promo for Nine’s line-up in two weeks’ time in which the network promises “something new” every night. Apart from Australia’s Got Talent and The Farmer Wants a Wife, the week also features the Australian premiere of Grease: Live (live production of Grease which airs on Fox in the US on January 31. It stars Vanessa Hudgens, Carly Rae Jepsen and Julianne Hough), the debut of The Hunt and Here Comes the Habibs and new seasons of The Big Bang Theory and The Embassy.

when will a local network put on a live production like NBC and Fox have been doing? They do great ratings and deliver plenty of buzz.

Would fit right it on Seven you’d think with their drama department.

Live production… you mean like live plays or something?[/quote]
Live production of a musical. Last year there was The Sound of Music on NBC.
I don’t think Australian networks have the money or resources to do that alone, it will have to be co-produced with outside promoters for example.
