Me too. Hopefully the Sydney stations come through too.
Luckily, the Sydney stations can be heard into many parts of the Illawarra region well, with reliable in-car reception all the way to Kiama, which is about 100km south of Sydney as the signal flies.
After all, the Sydney stations are listed in the Wollongong radio ratings, with Smooth the most popular Sydney FM station in the Illawarra, and is ranked 5th in the 65+ (behind ABC Illawarra, 2GB, Wave FM & ABC Sydney).
How community radio in the gong? Is 105.3 still country music? 106.9 FM?
Yes. Itâs known on-air as Kix Country.
A general community station (Vox FM) that airs a variety of programs. It doesnât have a consistent music format like SWR 999, Coast FM or 2NUR throughout the weekday, hence why itâs not really a viable alternative to the local commercial stations.
Pulse 94.1, which is a local Christian community station, has a more consistent music format throughout the day, mixing Christian music with mainstream AC music, the type of music that Wave FM used to play.
With The Wave in Mandurah launched yesterday as an FM conversion of 6MM, I thought it would be good to compare 6MM with The Wave, thanks to their playlist page on their website.
Here is 6MMâs playlist from last Friday, when it was still an AM station.

You can see more of The Waveâs playlist here: https://www.917thewave.com.au/on-air/played/
As you can see above, 6MM as an AM station played more newer music than The Wave does as an FM station, which is quite ironic. Then again, since The Wave now has an equal advantage with sister station Coast FM by broadcasting on the same band, thereâs little point on having too much overlap in the music between the two.
From the perspective of an avid radio listener in Perth, thereâs now a good adult music alternative on commercial FM in contrast to Mix 94.5 & 96fm.
Thatâs a great log from 91.7 The Wave. I havenât heard that Sonia Dada track on commercial radio since the 90s.
I donât know if this has been mentioned before but RadioApp keeps a log of all the songs played on each station. You can access this log by adding to the following url: http://harry.radioapi.io/services/nowplaying/
Examples:

Great post. But who is Harry?
I tried to get into the parent directories to make searching easier but as usual got the 403 Forbidden error. One would have to find the Triple M stations by trial and error (none of â2CSâ, âMMMcoffsâ, âMMMcoffscoastâ, âTripleMcoffsâ, or âTripleMcoffscoastâ worked).
Iâll look through the Radio app files again. For now you might just have to do it by trial and error. And No I donât know who Harry is⌠Maybe Prince Harry?
Maybe because Fred has it and not Harry!

Hereâs the file containing the Streams and the Logs if anyone wants it.
Iâve just noticed that the current log I get for 2CA Canberra is wrong.
Yeah, itâs been stuck since August last year.
Thanks to streaming, here is a music log of a station which I donât believe has been covered before:
947 - Johannesburg, South Africa
"If you love Jâburg, 947 loves you!"

- âRunning Wildâ - Pascal & Pearce Feat. Jethro Tait
- âAloneâ - Alan Walker
- â1, 2 Stepâ - Ciara Ft. Missy Elliott
- âBetter Nowâ - Post Malone
- âFeel It Stillâ - Portugal The Man

- âRejoiceâ - Bucie Ft. Black Motion
- âGettinâ Jiggy With Itâ - Will Smith
- âWithout Meâ - Halsey
- âWhat About Usâ - P!nk
- âSoloâ - Clean Bandit Ft. Demi Lovato
I also recorded the station as I was listening to it, so I will upload a radio aircheck of the station sometime tomorrow.
That station used to (maybe still does?) have a fair bit of boundary advertising at the Wanderers in Joburg. Perhaps you could do the wonderfully named Jacaranda FM next?
I was planning on recording/listening to Jacaranda FM tonight actually, so I will make sure that I do a music log of the station as well.
In case you or anyone else is interested, here is the radio aircheck I recorded last night of 947 FM.
Iâll have to listen to see what I can pick up next year when Iâm back in the Republic. Cape Town and Durban on the agenda so Iâll see if thereâs localised or networked programming compared to Johannesburg.
Iâve just noticed on their websites of each Grant-owned station that if you click on âOpen Playerâ, you have the list of the last 10 songs that have been played on a station.
Hereâs Wave FM Wollongong for example: http://player.listenlive.co/61031/en/songhistory

Also, itâs interesting to see that 2MMM plays more 70s, as well as the occasional 60s track, than WS these days.
