It’s probably a glitch in the system at NBN! 
Why not? They run ads/promos for every other holiday early these days. Just take a look at Christmas.
Because it’s ridiculous and over commercialisation. I support them running something special on a special day but running it every day for two weeks before just looks tacky.
The same criticism applies to Christmas decorations in deparment stores in September or hot cross buns on sale in December. Unnecessary and tacky.

Well, we all know how Nine are very guilty of overhyping their promos. They sure love using lines like “The Biggest Television Event of the Year!” and “Meltdown of the Century”!

The nine-ification of NBN continues with the signposts now having the graphics of artists/performers/talent. Tonight it is Delta Goodrem.

Could be nothing or maybe a possible mistake in the control room or they might be fixing the double layers on the HD logo.
Probably fixing the “HD” element, but personally I’d rather it be gone for good especially if they can’t get the timing of it right when going to/from breaks. Same deal with Ten HD, SBS HD and anyone else that bothers.
As I’ve undoubtedly said before, you’re going to notice the difference in picture quality between SD and HD if you’ve got access to both versions. Having “9HD” in the LCN name, fine. Having “:::9 HD” as the watermark on what is supposed to be an improvement on the SD version, why…?

What used to annoy me that it was there in popups and PRGs especially when advertising other channels. Least NBN does time it right to appear right after the PRG

although for some reason the “HD” part appears a split second before the “NBN” part if you watch closely 
The “HD” part of the 9HD watermark is back and the problem with it has been fixed.

From what I’ve seen, Nine very rarely airs any form of Station IDs in Sydney these days apart from the Movie Tie-In ones that pop up every now and again…
