I really just don’t get the Aussie promo strategy. If you really want to promote it this far out it should be short cryptic teases and then you drop a full trailer 2-3 weeks out.
I think the problem is 10, Aside from Mondays and Tuesdays, there’s very low viewership across most of the week, (depending on the wednesday/Thursday 7:30 offering), so they are forced to go long game.
2 weeks before with so few watching the network won’t work for them anymore.
New promo?
Sadly seems they’re doubling down on the trashy reality housewife route which also makes the US version a sub-par product. Frankly the more we see of it the less enthused I am about it.
Just saw on Instagram, 10 have a casting call for a Traitors episode of Deal or No Deal to be filmed in Melbourne on 23 June. I would guess one of the Traitors contestants or Gretel will be playing and this is for people holding the cases.
Looks like it will be part of this
The Traitors is opening in the West End. There is a different outcome every night, as it asks ‘who would have won if different Traitors were chosen?’

The Traitors UK (celeb) & The Traitors US (civilian) have both wrapped in Scotland. They filmed back-to-back, and will both go out in Autumn with the same missions and twists. UK civilian & US celeb will film similarly in August, to both air in January. pic.twitter.com/VdGLGSbPDx
Are we expecting the upcoming AU season to have the same missions & twists as the currently airing NZ season?
It’s weird 10 haven’t branded the upcoming AU as Celeb.
I would expect we will at least adopt some of the NZ missions. How close the versions will align is yet to be seen.
I am glad they haven’t branded it as celeb. The promo’s talk to them being former reality contestants, which is what they mostly are.
What’s with the silly names? Just keep it to The Traitors.
Really odd in the US how they still have to wait until the next day to stream content. Clearly doesn’t protect their overnight ratings either considering they are very much in the bin.
Meanwhile in NZ you can stream it about 8 hours before it airs.
Not really. They don’t see it as a celeb version.
I think as well as the calibre of celebs when a show is branded “Celebrity…” viewers expected it to be played for charity but presumably here like the US version everyone is playing to win the cash for themselves.
Yeah I am not sure how they will stretch out these promos for another 5-6 weeks. I’m guessing they might start having promo’s focused on certain contestants as it gets closer.
It is to distinguish between the Celebrity and Civilian version. I think it’s a smart title to introduce the civilian season.
Interesting that this is the first season of the Traitors US that is airing on NBC. The others have been exclusive to Peacock.
Just saw an interview with Madeline Sami, host of the Traitors NZ season currently airing.
She mentioned that the AU version was actually filmed first, before the NZ version. They were filmed back-to-back and she was able to be on set watching behind the scenes while the AU version was filming, to help her prepare for filming the NZ version.
Ah, so that means the flaws in the NZ version are the improvements on the Aussie version then.
