Radio Stations - Music Logs

No way. I hate ballads remixed with a vengeance. We don’t need the song to have a long shelf life as two different versions. Lewis Capaldi - Someone You Loved (Future Humans Remix) is probably one of the worst ever. Remixes should not be on radio unless they part of a dance party remix show.

The only exception is when a remix has charted that way and the original didn’t. For example current hit Saint JHN with Roses (Imanbek Remix).

Smooth has lost the plot. That playlist is lame. They used to be so adventurous :frowning:

I’m really digging the playlist of Toronto classic hits station Boom 97.3. I reckon WS and Gold would be better with something like this.

Woah that’s a mix of songs to love and hate. And what a trio, Sophie B Hawkins into Korn into Europop from Culture Beat.

The funny part is, I’d absolutely tune in to and enjoy that 90 minutes.

That’s just like the i98 I remember from my childhood.

“Apple Eyes ‘ is a great song from the mid 90s,never hear it anymore.
I like Milli Vanilli too:blush::+1:

Apple Eyes is one of my favourite songs of the 90s, just a really fun song. I don’t think @tamago_otoko concurs though.

Bubblegum pop at its worst/best - I do still have a (purely nostalgic) soft spot for it though.

Thank you! I just don’t know enough about modern pop music to know if there is a really true overlap or not. I doubt they would have KIIS music and WS becoming the “The Edge format” for example. I would think that is too close a format.

I guess my motive if there was overlap, is to have a 4kq like station on the old fashion analog FM band given WSFM is kinda of moving on from this format .

I wouldn’t be surprised if they have considered that since launching KIIS. Probably unlikely as I do think The Edge is a lot more urban/hip hop and probably appeals in western Sydney. But it would be interesting if they did do that. Maybe they could re-brand WS to Gold 101.7 and launch 2WS Classic Hits on 96.1. That would really be going back to their western Sydney roots.

I think I see airborne swine over Wentworth Falls.

Haha I am a bit slow, I was thinking a swine flu. Sign of the times I think.

Keep in mind that The Edge does make a impact on the existing CHR’s (if you can call them that), especially when it comes to cume figures. All one has to do is look at the digital ratings.
I would however safely say with mild confidence, that overall The Edge is probably on par with or just below the SCA pair ratings wise, potentially even beating them when 2Day was in the doldrums.

The other simple reason why ARN will be adverse to flipping Edge to classic hits, is as it’s protection for KIIS, incase of 2Day/Nova moving more rhythmic, as well as trying to get some extras off JJJ. (Which is somewhat the current trend of music by the sounds of it)
Back in 2006, it was adding a new format more than protection, but now…

I never knew that James Taylor was so passionate about Aussie Hoses that he wrote a song about it :stuck_out_tongue:

That is a known glitch with 2CH via Onlineradiobox, the running together of artists with advertisements.

Sorry, I was aware of the glitch when I copied the playlist over, I forgot to delete that one!
