9News Presents: Moomba Parade 2025
Monday 10 March 2:30 PM 90 min
9News Melbourne’s Alicia Loxley and Tom Steinfort are bringing the City of Melbourne’s Moomba Parade to your lounge room with larger-than-life floats, dance troupes, community groups and more.
Nine Melbourne will again show a delayed broadcast of the Moomba Parade that is at 10:45 am. It will be hosted by the news anchors.
The Moomba Parade will also be shown on WIN in Tasmania at 2.30pm next Monday.
Morning news extended; delayed by media conference.
I agree with this for most nights, but disappointed they have opted for this format style tonight. Melissa is on location, but she is still doing the other news.
I think it would have been fine to have her continue to anchor from the studio. But, if they thought they had to send her out, then they should have found someone else to read the rest of the news. Perhaps one of the biggest benefits of the double headers.
Strange not seeing Andrew Lofthouse with a weather event like this
First time we’ve seen a red 9news titlecard?
I’m loving the 4 way boxes background.
Nice new shot of Perth from the skycam.
As pointed out in the WA election thread, the Perth set has a new videowall on the LHS replacing the 9 individual screens. Looks a lot better. Not sure how long they’ve had this; hopefully the other states get it.
Shame the desk hasn’t been replaced yet.
EDIT;
Also seen in Adelaide 3 nights ago.
EDIT 2: Adelaide has had this new screen since at least 1st January.
Perth:
Was it Adelaide or Queensland that didn’t have a screen on the LHS when the new sets were revealed?
Brisbane doesn’t.
Seems that Adelaide and Perth got these new screens and the eastern states got the curved desks? Quite odd given how little these large screens are actually used on air.
Adelaide uses theirs pretty regularly for standing sport presentation, and for in-studio reports when they pop up.
Not sure about the other cities though.
Melbourne 4pm. Claiming to be on the banks of the Yarra, but it looks like a green screen and not long before Brett did a studio update.
Today Show EP Kendall Bora is moving to the LA Bureau in April.
