Problems with the quality of the link to Luke Bradnamâs weather export on GC News tonight and it was worse than SD vision.
Earlier, Luke did some reporting for the bulletin.

Sydney aired a QLD report on mosquito borne encephalitis tonight. In the intro Peter used the phrase âacross the border in QLDâ but in the report, QTQâs Amalee Saunders used the phrase âacross the border in NSWâ.
I thought to make the report more portable they should just say âin NSWâ or âin QLDâ, as Iâm sure everyone knows there is a border between the two states.
Did my usual pilgrimage to Queensland and got to same 7/9/10âs offerings. I admit the difference between Melbourne and Queenslandâs presentation across all networks was a bit of a shock (donât want to offend any Queenslanders here but it was nearly like professional tv vs community in standards haha).
I grew to accept it - a year later and I got into it even more this year. An added bonus was the wall to wall Tropical Cyclone Alfred coverage.
Why Iâm posting a general comment in the Nine News themed thread ? I rated their service (both the Gold Coast and Queensland editions) as a higher standard compared to 7 and 10.
Semi Nine related (granted itâs a presenter comment) - Lily Greer is a really good reporter. I know Isabel Quinlan was QLD based and moved to the Melbourne newsroom. I wouldnât object if the Nine Melbourne team poached Lily for the Melbourne market!

Every now and again on the Melbourne bulletin during the weather the audio cuts out for a few seconds. This happened tonight for example.

Not sure if this is on the main set or a TOSS studio, but the Adelaide updates after the 6pm bulletin always have this horribly pixelated still backdrop.
Itâs harder to see on a photo of a TV, but compare the sharpness of the supers and Kate versus the backdrop. Whatâs going on?

I noticed that the last two nights. I thought it was the TV at the hotel Iâm staying at.
While down here definitely noticed how much better the Weather presentation is both on air and presenter wise. Really shows Sydney isnât up to par.
