Nine Network - Programs and Schedules

Christmas Live in Brisbane TV promo. Program to include Guide to what’s on in Brisbane (cue sponsors) Santa’s arrival, cross to Carols. Broadcast from King George Square.

Saturday 10 December 7:00 - 8:00 pm

Join Melissa Downes live from King George Square as we celebrate Christmas in Brisbane including the Lord Mayor Carols, Santa’s arrival at South Bank, and preview the many events visitors to the River City can enjoy during the Christmas season.

According to promo shown tonight, Nine will show the first four Mission: Impossible movies on four Monday nights from tomorrow, leading up to Ghost Protocol on Boxing Day. Nine calls Ghost Protocol as a premiere, which is misleading as it first aired on Ten. Anyway this means Ten has even less titles left in its movie catalogue.

Must be why they’re repeating We Bought a Zoo again tonight.

And apparently, The Devil Wears Prada will be on again soon…

They’d be referring to a network premiere.

On that point, does the fact that it’s a network premiere actually attract viewers in 2016?

7 made a promo about the 1971 Gene Wilder version of Willy Wonka airing “for the first time on 7” so I guess the networks think so.

It’s hard to imagine the viewers mindset though: “Although I’ve seen this movie countless times before on Nine, I’ll tune in on Saturday to see it for the first time on Seven.”

Oh really? I must remember to catch it as I’m yet to see it.

“I want to see how the Oompa Loompa song scene goes with a Seven watermark”

Back in the day of classification slides, I felt movies just started on the right note when you had Deeksy rushing to say “thefollowingprogramisclassifiedMitcontainssexualreferencesadultthemesstrongviolenceandcourselanguagechannelsevenrecommendsviewingbyamatureaudience” within six seconds.

The guy on SBS said it very slowly …

Nothing beats Robbie McGregor’s emphasis on SEXUAL references

I thought this was shown as filler last week?

This is such weird programming!
Why not run the full 1 hour bulletin in Perth like normal, and have a 30-minute filler at 7pm.

I thought the same thing - it’s like that for three days. Is it because there won’t be enough national stories available to fill the hour?

That’d have to be the only logical reason for it.

Really surprised to see Chicago Med still in tonight’s schedule. I predicted it would be gone after last week’s 28th place in the overnight ratings.

Seems Mom and 2 Broke Girls won’t be coming back to Nine

Did those two shows ever rate that well for Nine?

I don’t think so. They are both the opposite of top shelf television.
