These reporters must be so hot wearing their big weather disaster jackets, it’s 25 degrees there, as seen by the person walking behind in a t-shirt and shorts.
Josh Holt reporting that severe winds would start to impact the SEQ region mid morning on Friday and then “ramp up”.
Not sure the point of this? They’re standing in the rain, it’s wet and windy - they’ve been doing this for hours on end today. You’d surely get cold.
Of all things to try to critique, seems so frivolous.
Sorry the destruction isn’t coming quickly enough for you
Fair enough, but in all fairness - the longer we wait, the worse the rain & winds will be because of it lingering.
But anyway, that’s a conversation for a whole other thread.
Who’s we? You and the cyclone?
We’re all at the mercy of it intensifying and eventually making landfall, that cannot be helped.
Patience and preparation is key here.
Another long closer from Seven Nws in Brisbane into 6pm
Big effort from 7 Brisbane today. They’ve gone right through from midday.
Tony Auden on air since 4.30am.
Katrina and Max will have done 2.00 -10.00 pm.
Karina Carvalho presenting a special bulletin on Seven from 8:30 tonight.
And they didn’t even have to change anchors this time. So no excuse. They think yesterday went well? Bad decision making. I also wonder why they haven’t considered getting Max (on location) to do the cyclone headlines in the opener?
Longer than usual closer from 10 tonight in QLD.

The BoM has also been publishing their forecasts, since early this morning, with the storm being Category 1 prior to making landfall.
THE INTENSITY GUIDANCE IS IN GOOD AGREEMENT THAT
WEAKENING WILL OCCUR FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE FORECAST DUE TO COOL
SEAS SURFACE TEMPERATURES, HIGH VERTICAL WIND SHEAR, AND
TOPOGRAPHIC INTERACTION.

Maybe Katrina stretched her legs, or had a drink, or went to the loo… or maybe had a quick catch up with the news director about the 6pm bulletin??
ACA in black tonight
7News Sunshine Coast live - with interview with former reporter, now Mayor Rosanna Natoli
We need to know the movements of ever anchor (pun intended).
Just saying I’m sure there’s a reason for the 3 minute break…
Many of the reporters have put in long hours too… some moving locations.
Yes, there could be many behind the scenes things that would create the need for a 3-4 minute break to get ready for the main news bulletin.
Why not run a few station promos or comercials to fill in the time ?
Probably want to keep you watching.
Strap on screen said “7 news at 6 starts now”.
I did flick over to 9 at 5.58… they were running a news promo during TP which said “in 5 minutes”… they can’t count
