Outside Broadcast
Good to see Channel 10 broadcasting it on TV
Channel nine are too
I thought Peter Ford said it won’t be televised?
Plans can change - this is one of those occasions where it has.
For goodness sake.
He first appeared on radio at the age of 14 and at the age of 20 he joined 9News in its Melbourne bureau.
We must all have missed Bert Newton the Channel 9 news reporter…
Bert and Pattie after winning his second Logie for his show Sale of the Century in April, 1981.
… And that Bert won not one but two Logies for his show Sale Of The Century. And that his wife is “Pattie”
Bert Newton cracks a joke in October 1977.
Yes that’s a great photo caption except that the photo it is linked to is from 1973 from Bert’s ABC series.
But, you know, jurnalizms…
Did you leave a comment or send an email?
This is very amateurish stuff.
No, it’s not my job to correct an article that’s less reliable than Wikipedia
Yes
I think a year 10 work experience kid wrote it.
A reporter on 3AW’s afternoon news said this as well. Unbelievable.

Surprised it took them so long to confirm broadcasting it, especially since 10 were quick off the bat to announce theirs and they always lag behind.
Even more surprised to see they’re sending Larry & Kylie to Melbourne.
So it looks like all the major networks breakfast shows will be covering Bert’s memorial. But wouldn’t Ten have the most extensive amount of footage of him from GMA?
Is it a funeral or a memorial? The networks and state government are saying funeral?
Funeral.
