ABC News Sunday is reduced to 30 minutes down from usual 40 minutes in official program guide.

Its 30 minutes instead of 40 minutes, because the ABC usually has reduced news services on Easter Sunday (same with Good Friday).
There’s reduced news services on Good Friday: News Breakfast is 2 hours long instead of 3, Noon News is 30 minutes instead of 60 min. For Easter Sunday, I assume Offsiders would be cut like usual (cant remember if Insiders is cut too?)

I would presume that a number of Easter cuts won’t be made this year during daytime. We might expect more briefings and important interviews to be carried through the long weekend.

May not have noticed this, but two days ago the news had a MUCH different background and the set looked different! Are they starting to tell us they are trialling the new NEWS Channel set?

Can’t believe it went to air with NSW branding, how was that not picked up in rehearsal?? To make matters worse, dreadful lighting and an unused plasma in shot. Amateurs. Should have come from Melbourne.

Surely everyone should know they were producing a national bulletin. They even did 3 run throughs with a giant NSW on the wall! He didn’t see that? Or Anyone???

What I’d really like to know is why/how ABC News needs to go national on Good Friday but can seemingly run the state/territory editions on Easter Saturday, Sunday & Monday.

Because Good Friday is very different to all of those days? In some states (not during COVID) most businesses can’t open. It’s second to only Christmas as a christian holiday.
