Chill to a new season of Love Island UK on 9Now

The United Kingdom’s hottest reality dating show is back for a brand-new season, with the winter edition of Love Island UK fast-tracked and streaming exclusively for Australian audiences from Wednesday, January 18, on 9Now, with new episodes daily.

Returning after its inaugural season in 2020, the winter edition of the series will see eleven singles leaving the cold behind to jet-set to a hot luxury villa in Cape Town, South Africa.

This season will also see the introduction of a new host, TV star Maya Jama, taking over the reign of the villa alongside narrator Iain Stirling, who returns with his commentary on all that unfolds as the Islanders flirt, date, re-couple, break up and make up.

It will be a sizzling winter of fun, romance and drama, with shock eliminations and bombshell arrivals. Islanders must couple up to secure their place in the villa or risk being dumped and sent packing. They must also win the hearts of the public, as viewers will crown their favourite couple – after facing one final twist.

Entering the villa this season are: payroll administrator Anna-May (20), TV salesman Haris (21), science and PE teacher Kai (24), makeup artist Lana (25), ring girl and actress Olivia (27), financial advisor Ron (25), airport security officer Shaq (24), student (biomedical science) and influencer Tanya (22), hair stylist Tanyel (26) and farmer Will (23).

Love Island UK fans are in for a double dose of love in 2023 with the winter edition turning up the heat before the summer series returns later in the year.

I could be wrong here but wasn’t channel meant to launch live stream channels on 9now same thing as 7plus and 10play have?

Yep. I’m eagerly waiting to see what FAST channels they’ll offer. Hopefully there are no duplicates like MovieSphere.

The 9Now app seems to be broken. A lot of fans of MAFS complaining on social media that their app just “freezes”. Live TV works, but catch up program won’t load.

PEDESTRIAN and The Betoota Advocate form unholy union with new vodcast ‘The Show Off’

Two powerhouses of Australian media, PEDESTRIAN and The Betoota Advocate are blasting into your eye and > ear holes tomorrow with their new entertainment vodcast collab, The Show Off, available on 9Now and all good podcast services.

After years of not-so-passive aggressive online banter between the two sites, PEDESTRIAN’s Head of Editorial, Josephine Rozenberg-Clarke along with The Betoota Advocate’s Entertainment and Lifestyle Reporter Effie Bateman and Sports Reporter (and token bloke) Wendell Hussey will form an unholy union to give viewers and listeners their spicy takes on the biggest moments in streaming, film and pop culture each week.

From which new series you need to be obsessing over right now, to an in-depth dissection of that pivotal Pedro Pascal moment, to which celeb has been canceled so hard they’re now worthy of an “In Memoriam” – no entertainment stone will be left unturned on The Show Off.

It’s the collab Aussies didn’t know they needed – perfect for hardcore pop culture stans to noobs that can’t keep up with their mates’ pub chat and everyone in between. The Show Off promises to keep you in the loop on anything you’ve missed, and everything you give a rat’s about across streaming, film, TV and more.

Josephine Rozenberg-Clarke, Head of Editorial, PEDESTRIAN.TV said, “PEDESTRIAN and The Betoota Advocate have been taking the piss out of each other for years online, so we thought it was time to fire shots at each other in podcast format, too. And what better topic to bicker over? Young Aussies are obsessed with entertainment and are all streaming about 50 shows at once, so we’ve joined forces to round up all that’s good (and more importantly, bad) in the land of TV and pop culture each week.”

The Betoota Advocate’s Wendell Hussey said, “A collaboration with PEDESTRIAN is not something we ever thought we’d be doing, but thanks to the current media and economic climate, here we are. So, it’s time to bury the hatchet and bring our trademark style of reporting to the world of Pop Culture — for the diehards and the mildly interested significant others.”

The Show Off launches on Thursday 30 March so fire it up on 9Now or follow the vodcast and prep yourselves for a cracking good time.

Anyone having trouble with 9Now on their tv or Foxtel? The app for both of mine just says ‘connection failure’ and won’t load. Internet connection is fine and all other apps ok.

Any word on these Fast channels? Because It’s now April and I’m pretty sure this is the month they were meant to launch.

Nice pickup there, interesting for this information to be available via a job advert before it’s been announced anywhere.
