From 1 February 2027, new applicants will need 8,000 qualified watch hours over the previous 365 days or 20 million qualified Shorts views within 90 days. Both thresholds are double the current requirements.
The changes will not affect creators already in YPP. YouTube said the entry requirements for its fan funding and shopping products will also remain unchanged.
Last year, we updated how we count public views for Shorts to better capture how viewers watch on YouTube. Now, we’re aligning all other video formats to this same standard for consistency across the platform. Beginning on 8/24/2026, a view will be counted the moment a video begins to play—from the very first frame. This standard will now apply globally across all formats.
Does anyone here know Max Klymenko other than me? He’s the guy who does a career ladder series and does interesting economic videos. @MossPickle and @Aaron_Evans_2005, have you discovered him on your feed?
Yeah, I’ve seen him before. Recently underwent knee surgery I believe?
Tastes of Africa brings Melbourne’s food stories to YouTube
Tastes of Africa, a new three-part series hosted by Santilla Chingaipe, will explore the food, culture and stories of Melbourne’s African-Australian community when it launches on YouTube.
The 3 x 15-minute series takes Chingaipe into home kitchens and hidden eateries across Melbourne, meeting aunties, chefs and younger African-Australians who are keeping traditional recipes alive while putting their own spin on them.
Produced by Blacksand Pictures, Tastes of Africa is created and produced by Kauthar Abdulalim, written and directed by Rendah Haj, and edited by Kalu Oji.
Tastes of Africa will be available globally through the African Australian YouTube channel from Monday, August 31.
Patterson Cricket has closed due to copyright issues with Cricket content moving to Patterson TV.
Set up an Odysee channel for your full-length videos.
That is a option mate plus there is Discord as well.
You can upload full AFL matches there without any restrictions. Archive is good but it is a bit slow
I’ve never had a problem with the AFL for full matches mate in 9 years of Patterson AFL.
Stop taking other peoples uploads and re-uploading them which are worse quality, you are a pest.
Find tapes and do the captures yourself.
I’ve been ripping the DVD Collection which has been used for the YouTube Channels and did a VHS Capture of a 2000 episode of Wheel Of Fortune on Channel Seven there are more planed for the future Didz.
DVD is already digital, you don’t digitise you rip it. None of the uploads have been de-interlaced so half of the video information is lost before YouTube crushes whatever is left with compression.
This is how good a DVD can look on YouTube when processed properly:
Thanks Didz.
