ā€¦and that ā€œHot Dog with the Lotā€ show which aired on community TV (and Aurora on Foxtel) in the mid-late 2000s, which was kind of an ultra low budget spoof of ā€œMillionaireā€ where an ingredient would be added to the hot dog for each correct answer while it was thrown on the ground entirely for an incorrect answer.

One of my ideas would be ABC Rage, a 24/7 free-to-air music network that would be a local version of 4Music just as New Zealandā€™s The Edge TV is.
It would focus on hit music (anyone remember Rageā€™s Top 40 block?), local music, classic hits, Countdown repeats, artist video collections and more.

On the 10Retro channel above, I consider The Project to feature at 9:30pm each night (Monday to Friday) instead of 10:30pm. In doing so, I noticed I missed The Sunday Project as part of my schedule, instead scheduling 48 Hours in the 10:30pm Sunday slot.

If I was to schedule that in, the simplest way would be a follows (incorporating a 9:30pm slot)

I notice you have kept with the rule of 55% Australian content - although given you have started at 5am, then Nine would need 1 hour between 7:30pm til midnight to comply with the 55% between 6am and midnight.

An interesting idea would be a programming block shown during ABC Meā€™s off-time hours. Iā€™d base it around NickRewind from the US and allow it to focus on cult classic childrenā€™s programs from 1991-2009, including the entire ACTF back catalogue (cult classics like Lift Off and Johnson and Friends would make the airwaves againā€¦). It would allow many people to retrieve their nostalgia again (as with NickRewind) and with integrated social-media features.

The logo would be the ABC logomark with the text ā€œRewindā€ on the bottom and ā€œ<ā€ symbols, which seems pretty simple to mock upā€¦

An idea for a FTA music channel - 10 Loop (a sister station of Channel 10). If Channel 14 is available, it will take that slot.

Like MTV and Channel V, it would be a 24-hour entertainment-music channel but it wonā€™t completely be music videos 24/7. There will be variety shows throughout the day and a program dedicated to music news.

A typical day would look like this -

6:00am-8:00am Continuous music videos
8:00am-9:00am Loop News First (encore from previous day)
9:00am-12:00pm The Loop - much like the current show on 10, it previews the best new music and takes requests from viewers, also plays ā€œpredictionsā€ (much like what they had on Video Hits), etc.
12:00pm-3:00pm ARIA Top 50 (Fridays; some music videos may be omitted if deemed not suitable for broadcast at this time) OR Featured Countdown (Mondays-Thursdays e.g. top 50 songs about [any topic])
3:00pm-5:00pm Continuous music videos
5:00pm-6:00pm Loop News First presented by Scott Tweedie and Olivia Phyland
6:00pm-7:00pm Artist feature (Mon-Wed), Throwback Thursday and Flashback Fridays on their respective days
7:00pm-10:00pm A music program counting down the best new/current music as voted by you (similar to the defunct Hot30 Countdown)
10:00pm-12:00am International Loop
12:00am-1:00am Loop News First (replay)
1:00am-4:00am ARIA Top 50 or Featured Countdown (replay)
2:00am-6:00am Continuous music videos (videos deemed unsuitable for airplay during prime time/day time can be aired in this slot)

New shows:

  • Throwback Thursday and Flashback Friday would look back at songs from a particular year.
  • Loop News First would look at the biggest music news around the world, such as an artist releasing new music, announcing tours/gigs etc, comebacks, their personal lives etc. The theme would be a remix of the current 10 News First theme.
  • ARIA Top 50 - as the name suggests, the show would count down the ARIA Top 50 for the week, starting at #50 and counting all the way down to #1. If any songā€™s music video is deemed unsuitable for airplay, a 10-15 second message would air saying ā€œThe music video for [song] by [artist] is deemed unsuitable for airplay during this time. 10 Loop apologizes for any inconvenienceā€.
  • Featured Countdown would count down the best music of any topic (e.g. best old school hits, best of the ladies, best groups, best break-up songs etc.)
  • Artist feature would focus on only one artist and would feature his/her/their music.
  • International Loop would look at the best music outside of Australia, with a main focus on the Americas and Europe. On Thursdays, the top 20 on the US charts would be played and on Fridays the top 20 on the UK charts would be played.
