Appears to be Tassie, as that’s where Hayden Cornes and Elsie Papworth are based
Very interesting given Tasmania hasn’t produced their own bulletin in a long while.
Also odd how these updates have been using the old National Nine News theme. Chance of a refresh tonight?

So when and how many Win News updates are there per night on SA and WA facebook updates there looks like multiple per night as mention of presenter being back next hour. Has other areas with own bulletins also increased
Very peculiar upload schedule, not even one per day. One from 6 days ago and the latest from 3 days ago.
And Jesus, how deep in the archives did they go to pull that ancient news theme?
Especially since the actual bulletins don’t use this theme?!
Nothing changed on the Illawarra bulletin.
Why am I not surprised?
WIN didn’t change anything in Canberra tonight.
They probably won’t change anything unless there’s a merger or a change in ownership
Well tonight’s WIN News Sunraysia was a complete & utter joke & that’s putting things nicely here’s a run-down of the stories that went to air:
1: Our own Anne Webster promoting local news for Mildura/Sunraysia & highlighting regional broadcasters.
2: Ambulance Victoria demand across the state.
3: Rental affordability across Victoria.
4: Unauthorized water use In Balranald.
5: Bendigo Health.
6: Bendigo Art Gallery re-development.
7: Crime across Victoria.
8: Social Media Ban.
9: Keeping Phillip Island Fox Free.
SPORT:
1: Sheffield Shield Cricket.
2: Victorian Grass Court Tennis Championship.
3: Sporting Club Grants (Mildura) story didn’t even last 10 seconds).
WEATHER:
Weather was local but pre-recorded It mentioned the severe thunderstorm warning we had, but by the time the report aired It had been cancelled for over 2 hours.
Would be interested to know how viewers faired In Griffith with their news service.
Nine, get in and acquire the WIN TV Mildura license. Have a fully functioning, hyper-local bulletin for Mildura and the Sunraysia. Go on, do it. I knew WIN would just make it another one of those pesky statewide bulletins, and no it’s not a new look, just the same crap shipped from Wollongong. Stale graphics, stale intro (except for the Mildura background and city name in the intro) and of course, it’s presented by Wollongong presenters.
You really think a company who is in the middle of cost-cutting in their own news division would spend the money on something which frankly would have very little return?
The problem is there’s no money in that, regardless of which network or who owns it
To have a truly hyperlocal bulletin you’d need more than one video journalist for a start
It was both sarcasm, and a direct up yours to WIN who have just shown us that they aren’t really that interested in filling their new toy with hyper-local stories solely from the Mildura region. Probably just providing this news service to please the watchdog i.e the ACMA.
They said a dedicated bulletin for Mildura, that should be exactly what viewers get. But nope, just another mostly Bendigo bulletin for Mildura viewers just like a few days ago.
Also I wonder if other regions like Traralgon and Shepparton will get Mildura stories crammed into their statewide bulletins now?
Unless you live in Wollongong, chances are what you see on WIN News is just nothing more than generic and even national stories. The Social Media Ban story making it to WIN News on the Mildura bulletin this evening for example, as per @Casper’s list of WIN News stories.
Sure it was…
I wonder how much worse WIN News does than if they had Tipping Point as the lead in to Nine News? At some point the quality and disinvestment has to be such that Nine get annoyed it hurts the national ratings figures.
I think it would make sense to scale down, pick a few big markets for a much more comprehensive bulletin and downgrade the rest to updates, I don’t think anyone’s served by dragging out 3 stories of local news to a half hour bulletin.
I’d have to guess these token extra markets will be born out when in a few months there’s some assistance package - these returning and Nine relaunching in Darwin now are way too suspicious to not be tied to something bigger.
Located almost exactly between the Griffith and Mildura license areas, so that’s one approach to giving those bulletins local stories…
Balranald leans more closer to Swan Hill though than it does to Mildura. Also the local TV translator in Balranald carries the Bendigo channels so they get the Bendigo bulletin.
- The callsigns for the Mildura channels are PTV (Seven) and STV (WIN)
- The callsigns for the Bendigo channels are AMV (Seven) and VTV (WIN)
Perhaps Nine could help out in a way. If Nine produced a National bulletin (presented by NBN presenters) that was half an hour for Regionals, then left state and local issues to WIN and NBN in the second half hour.
I know this is hardly likely but it would lead to uniformity across the network eg Tipping Point at 5 etc
