WIN News

This would have been in the first half of 1992. The second half of the year had a local/national news combo (a combined Riverina/Central West/stories from TCN bulletin) according to the UOW report.

Guessing Family Feud was aired instead?

You guessed correctly. :slightly_smiling_face:

I noticed the simulcast between WIN and One didn’t kick in until after the conclusion of the first ad-break (different ads were shown in this instance). On One, the normal metro watermark was shown with a 10 second delay between it and WIN and Eleven to begin with. Then from thereafter mappy made a return on One (mappy was used throughout FF via WIN however).
Good thing very few people watch them these days to inconvenience I suppose. And why would you? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Well judging by the facebook comments you’d think they
d have more viewers.

I dispute that WIN has ever been Canberra’s most trusted news. CTC7/Capital 7/Ten Capital was, ABC Canberra is.

These promotional claims of being somewhere’s “Most Trusted News” (not just by WIN, but in general) would be even better if were backed up by something substantial like the results of a viewer survey on television news.

What, all ten of them?

I think WIN was #1 for news from the mid 90s to early 10s.
But yes, not for all 27 years.

They are just a slogans guys… they were never really the ‘who’‘s who of news’ either but they still used that tagline.
Precisely. WIN in Tassie consistently used “See it First” for all their news promos right up until the affiliation swap back in July. Now this tagline was obviously used by Nine too, but they used it down here even though it wasn’t entirely accurate either.

The simulcast of WIN News Tasmania has been dropped from One as of Monday. Coincides with Ten’s amended early evening schedule.

About time. It is was a pointless exercise and wouldn’t have done them any favours methinks.

I think it may have been previously mentioned that on the Victoria bulletins they have a cross to Lucy Breaden in the Hobart newsroom for national headlines. It looks like it is recorded sometime between 12pm and 2pm as the TV in the background with ABC or News 24 on it has the Ros Childs Midday bulletin on it.

Is she green screened there?

Presumably, it is: WIN’s Hobart newsroom as background on green screen.

Remove the News part and there’s next weeks watermark for the whole station sorted!
