WIN News

IIRC, Someone said that WIN News was getting updated graphics mid-2023, I’m guessing that person was just assuming or something… But i wouldn’t be to hopefully of a refresh this tbh.

How old is the current graphics?

It hasn’t been updated since 2018 if I recall it. Maybe WIN was waiting for the new 9 news facelift before upgrading theirs? If they do I hope it’s more in par with the 9 news facelift

With the state WIN’s bulletins are in now, they won’t update their graphics.

And even then it’s barely changed since like 2012

The weather graphics date back to 2012

WIN have more important things to spend their limited news budget on. If the graphics are still able to be used and work well why change them? I would prefer the money be spent on the content of the bulletins then cosmetics.

Main channel for now; although perhaps you may be right about it moving for the AO, that’d be the following week. Nine is more or less on a normal schedule (for the 8 January we can see anyway) with the Adelaide International being shown on 9Gem.

WIN in their current state don’t need to cover major stories like that if Seven and Nine News cover it themselves. WIN didn’t cover the Daylesford pub tragedy in November last year and if they had been on air this week they wouldn’t have covered that I had found my way back into Halls Gap. If we were in 2010 when WIN’s Regional Victorian news bulletins were recorded in Ballarat then major stories like the Daylesford pub tragedy in November last year and that I had found my way back into Halls Gap would’ve been covered in the bulletin.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there were more Nine News elements brought into any future gfx refresh over at WIN. Not suggesting that it will happen or that there will even be a refresh, but they did previously heavily use the Nine News gfx package, even more so with Tasmania.

where the news is read isn’t going to make any difference. You can have the world’s best news studio and it won’t mean anything if you don’t have resources on the ground or back of house.

That’s not the way anyone should think.

Goes back to when they had the composite bulletin, they mostly used the graphics for the metro station they were affiliated with. Not important since the change to local in line with their other markets.

Congrats to Jared
Truly well deserved!

I think it’s best if WIN News has their own identity since they can be affiliated with any network.

Was he not a presenter before?

Maybe they’ve made the role permanent.

Weird that the Win News Canberra page is like ‘join us across Vic/Qld etc…’

He was a journalist until this promotion, although been acting for a while now at the desk.

Suburb name spelt wrong and also no where near where the photo was actually taken!

He does have a massive workload though. Imagine if Lincoln Humphries leaves and Bruce Roberts becomes the presenter in Regional Queensland and Western New South Wales. Honestly WIN should just move to updates now except in the Illawarra and Canberra, considering the state these bulletins are in now.

I don’t get the opening line. Is it just because he’s sports reporter? Or does “match” have anything to do with him? Also, why is the Canberra page advertising news across many markets?
