The NRL Footy Show into Melbourne, while Sydney gets The Garden Gurus? Bizzare.

While Brisbane got MY Favourite Martian earlier?

Wait what? So the NRL show is exclusive to Melbourne today? :joy:

Looks like that. Oddly enough.

EDIT: It’s 11.11am and 9Gem have finally switched to the Footy Show mid segment. So they forgot to air it in Sydney from the beginning

AFL Footy Show now on Nine in Melbourne, started at 11.46am. The hosts didn’t acknowledge the late start, so I think the show is airing on tape delay.

What a mess!

They just crossed to Matt White who promoted the “Bathurst’s Motor Series 6-Hour Race” (motor-racing) for Stan’s coverage.

Since White is doing a role for Stan (not sure if its short or long term), it would be nice to see him appear on the show as a panellist in the near future. He’s quite knowledgeable in the sports world.

He was on Ten (1993 - 2004), then on Seven (2004 - 2014), then back to Ten (2014 - 2020). Stan in 2022.

He might not be able to/have time to with his SEN and other commitments (Amazon Prime, etc.).

Aaah, fair enough. I forgot about his work on SEN.

Was nice seeing him on Nine nonetheless.

Roz Kelly hosting the show tomorrow.

I think Nine should consider giving Roz or Emma Lawrence this show permanently. James is great but with all his commitments with the NRL, 6pm news weekdays, 100% Footy etc it may not be feasible in the long term.

Plus both Roz and Emma are underutilised IMO. They both deserve opportunities to go beyond reporting and occasional presenting.

Roz anchors a lot of the Super Rugby (along with Nick McArdle). Not like she’s a bit part player on that coverage.

James Bracey is filling-in, in his old role, for Roz Kelly while she is on Wimbledon duty.

Sports Sunday NRL Grand Final Special

Live from Sydney Olympic Park on Grand Final Day
Mitchell Starc, Candice Warner, Johnathan Thurston and Todd Woodbridge

In a special NRL Grand Final edition of Sports Sunday, the panel will be on air live from Accor Stadium at Sydney Olympic Park from 10.00am AEDT on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Host Roz Kelly is joined by retired Ironwoman Candice Warner, Grand Slam doubles champion Todd Woodbridge, NRL champion Johnathan Thurston and former NRL coach Anthony Seibold to preview the mouthwatering showdown between crosstown town rivals the Penrith Panthers and Parramatta Eels at 7.30pm.

NRL premiership-winning captain Thurston reflects on what Grand Final week is like for a player and gives his prediction for the winner.

Roz Kelly sits down with Australian quick Mitchell Starc as the summer of cricket begins early, with the ICC T20 World Cup available live and free on Channel 9 from October 22.

As Wallabies captain Michael Hooper prepares to return to the field, the panel ask if fortunes could change for the green and gold when they set sail for the Northern Hemisphere. And we celebrate the illustrious career of Geelong Cat Joel Selwood who has retired as a premiership-winning captain.

Plus, Sydney Kings imports Derrick Walton Jr and Justin Simon drop by as the reigning champions defend their title in a new NBL season.

A small mistake into today’s show. They opened the show with different names under the panellists. They had Casey Dellacqua’s name instead of Bronte Campbell’s name, and had Kris Smiths name under Brendon Goddard. Oopsy
