Using the news sets makes the show seem overly formal when shows like these probably work best when there’s still a relaxed element to the show.
So what happened to Wide World Of Sports?
It’s basically been rebranded and refreshed into Sports Sunday, I don’t know why they’re bouncing around that like it’s not the case.
Probably because Ken Sutcliffe ( who was a feature of that program) has now retired. I get the impression it will be a little more panel based than WWOS Sunday.
I think it will be. Look at the segment ‘Sunday Serve’ that started as a 5 minute segment and then recently became half of the show so I think they are moving more towards that.

Actually, from that cap, nothing is for the new show. The plasma and lightboxes were used in the last incarnation of WWOS with Ken Sutcliffe- they were just red- and that desk was used on The Footy Show (NRL) on Thursday night.

As far as I know, it’s actually a brand new desk as can be seen from the protective film on top which hadn’t been removed yet - if it’s being used for other sports shows even better.

I would be surprised if that’s the NRL Footy Show desk, that one is huge and wouldn’t fit in the much smaller WWOS set.

Graphics are awful and Emma isn’t a good host.
Yes, that is a new desk @killy06 but the side panels have been modified from the former WWOS (which I thought was better).

Disagree. I love the graphics! They’re fresh and something different. Set looks great too IMO.

Love the graphics. I think it’s very different from the usual fare in Australian sporting presentation of slapping on a 3D glossy effect and calling it a day. They’re probably a little too basic but at least they’ve put in effort to stay with modern design trends.
That being said, I feel the graphics will age quite quickly.
