Wide World of Sports

Could of been a technical issue?

Yeah that’s all it was I’d say. Forgot to turn it on/it glitched out so they just had to wing it through to the break.

Unfortunately, WA viewers won’t be able to see the Wide World of Sports on the NRL Grand Final Day due to Weekend Today taking priority on main channel. And sadly, there was no live coverage on 9Gem.

Just mentioned on this mornings show - is that next week’s episode is the Final episode for 2024. With some awards “given out” for some best sporting moments of the year.

Why is everything ending so early this year?

First HYBPA then Home and Away now this.

Sport doesn’t stop for summer. In fact, it ramps up. Strange move.

I don’t think WWOS Sunday mornings has ever run over summer.

Maybe a cost cutting move to end shows a bit earlier than than usual?

I don’t believe it has ever run over December and January anyway.

Personally, it could have run a little longer (until the end of November) instead of finishing next week. And focus on the upcoming cricket season. And actually talk a bit more of the A-League, which they oddly don’t mention much for a sports program.

I know it never runs in summer. My point is it should.

I agree with you.

Offsiders has a “Summer Series”. Not sure why this can’t either.

There wasn’t a summer series of Offsiders last year though unfortunately, however, the normal season ran until mid December so that’s way better than WWOS.

No more Mark Taylor?

Also very dark for Sunday morning set wise.

I thought that Mark Taylor was a regular guest panellist, rather than an actual permanent panellist? He wasn’t on the desk every week during 2024.

I hate when Channel Nine puts sports on Gem and still have low rating program like Today Extra on!
