What I don’t get is, wouldn’t it have been easier for Seven to have made sure “… | 7mate” was positioned a little to the left so that the HD could be positioned where it normally is for sport on 7HD?

They should have just used the widely used and I’d say recognised acronym for the program instead, proportionally it just looks all wrong.

They probably should have just called it “Attention!”.

I’m not normally at home at this time of day, but has the HD watermark on Nine always been a solid one during “Today Extra”?

Recently I’d say yes based on screen caps I’ve made - same as Today
But with previous graphics it was transparent.

I’m pretty sure Nine has used the orange logo on Today/Today Extra ever since the graphics were relaunched in February last year.
During the 2012-16 era, Nine used the standard programing watermark on Today.

The 7 logo for today’s AFL is pink, as it is the annual Pink Lady Match to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Network Australia. This year it is between Melbourne and Hawthorn.
