The watermark on Seven Melbourne is currently in the top right hand corner (presumably so it doesnāt intrude with other graphics) on the annual Royal Childrenās Hospital Good Friday Appeal:
and no rings.
Even in Sydney the rings have disappeared. I thought the rings were full time
Different movie in Adelaide. Still no rings
Until today the Good Friday Appeal was the only remaining program that did not have a watermark.
The Olympic rings are back on the watermarks of 7TWO and 7mate tonight.
I donāt know why its only happening on Fox Footy HD but the āNo Ad Breaks LIVEā graphic looks 20-30% bigger than the SD channel and the other Fox Sports channels. Its really awful! I actually rather the ad breaks that that gigantic graphic.
Thankfully itās back to normal size today. Would be better if they get rid of it all together and just have LIVE
I really donāt get why channels want to promote the fact that the sport they air is live and free. I mean of course itās free they donāt need to promote it!
Blame Seven for starting this recent āLive and Freeā watermarking (and promotional) trend on sports broadcasts. I believe that they were the ones who started it, with Nine and Ten (one wonders how long it will take them to start using āLive, Free and in HDā as a dig at Seven) following suit later.
TEN really need to sort the sequence and timing of their HD watermark, it regularly doesnāt appear for quite a while, the HD wording doesnāt appear or isnāt removed while pop-upās are on screen etc.
Tonight for example during the James Corden primetime special there is a solid TEN watermark throughout the show to coverup the CBS logo but after the first adbreak the HD wording has moved back to the RHS of the screen to where it usually is rather then next to the logo which it originally was when the show started.
Yeahā¦and Nine often gets the timing of itās HD watermark additions a bit off as well.
Personally, I think that Ten (indeed, any network) may as well get rid of those HD watermark additions. If you can receive the channel, youāre going to notice the difference between HD and SD quality!
We might be able to spot the differenceā¦
But as already discussed in some of the HD related threads, there are a lot of āaverageā TV viewers who canāt tell the difference between SD and HD, so I think having a HD watermark still has some merit.
Not when the content is not in HD.
No wonder the average viewer is confused, especially when watching Ten HD.
Surely even the average viewer can tell the difference here - no HD watermark required
i think everyone knows theres no ad breaks lol so no need for the no Ad Breaks sign
And itās too big and intrusive
Speaking of which, Ten used a massive solid Ten and Ten HD watermark on Friday night to cover the opaque CBS eye logo on The Late Late Show Carpool Karaoke Special.
