Remember that H&A runs all year around so you can target the same fan base for the entire year. Other reality shows that only run for a few months each have different audiences and fans, so it’s understandable they want H&A on the cover more often than not.
But so many other shows have bigger audiences so potentially more people to buy the mag.
Married at First Sight will most likely make an appearance on the cover - as it has has over the last few years. And that’s a big rating show.
Do the audiences for the other high rating shows by magazines, especially ones about TV?
Well, they should be aiming at picking up more readers who watch all television shows to buy their magazine. If they’re only aiming at pleasing the readers they already have then their readership will just dwindle down over time. What happens when the audience of H&A shrinks or disappears? TV Week folds? Not a very good plan for the longevity of the magazine or a website into the future.
I think most of us are surprised it hasn’t folded by this point.
Clearly it hasn’t by running H&A front pages, despite people here hating them, clearly it works for circulation
starring an ex H&A cast member… the real reason it scored the cover
And they only featured him on the cover four weeks ago for the same show.
This cover is fine but if they knew this show was coming up so soon and they were likely to do a cover story then surely they could have had a different TV star on the cover four weeks ago for the 2023 preview issue.
But there is only one ‘Star’ on the show and that’s an ex-HAA actor according to TV Week. We know they wouldn’t promote any other lesser-known show or one on a streaming service if there is no HAA link.
She may be on H&A but here she’s talking about All Saints.
They promoted the exclusive interview with Ally Langdon last week and that would have been great for the main shot on the cover.
Instead we get a 25th anniversary cover for All Saints even though that show was axed 14 years ago. Obviously an excuse to have yet another Home and Away actor on the cover. And there is also that false hope of actors and now shows coming back. “WILL THE SHOW RETURN?”
Not “Why We HAD To Quit”? Gee, they missed an opportunity there, someone’s head will roll…
Survivor George vs Hayley this week.
While waiting for some takeaway yesterday, I saw an old guy holding a copy of this week’s TV Week. So at least one person is still buying this mag. Probably a Home and Away fan
