No thanks. At least it looks AI with the style they’ve chosen.
When your boss says have you made that ad yet? Goes and uses AI.
This horrible commercial was panned on the season final of Gruen last night
Coincidentally, I saw it yesterday for the first time and my reaction was WTF. Some other mining company ads look good and I too was surprised Gina Rinehart put herself in these ads.
On the same theme of mining Gina Rinehart has one out at the moment for her sponsoring Olympians in the lead up to Paris its one of the most boring ads I have seen for years. Apparently she contributed 30% of WA’s tax revenue if only we received the same royalties for our off shore resources instead of giving it to multi national oil company’s for virtually free. However that is for a different topic.
That AAMI TV Commercial With The Fanfare For The Common Man Is Very Funny!
Who Remembers The Medownick Laser Clinic TV Commercial From 1997 With The Couple On The Beach While The Lifeguard Watches On?
WTH is this new Electrodry ad? Just saw it this morning and the VO threw me off.
It’s terrible like the NRMA ads they keep playing in Sydney at the moment. “a help company” is just bad. The Monkeys the agency who came up it should no longer work with NRMA if that is the best they can come up with.
Im surprised Nine didn’t ask them to change the song or even ban the ad from their Olympic coverage. It screams Channel 7 to me
Every time I hear it I think of the Channel 7 motor racing intro from the 90’s with more of the song. We actually ended up playing it on YouTube this morning because the kids were singing along to it in the ad so I showed them the full version.
I’ll go with the I wasn’t born yet excuse for missing that one and then second to that not getting SBS until aggregation I think in 94.
Channel Nine realistically can’t do anything about that given that Emerson Lake & Palmer’s ‘Fanfare For The Common Man’ isn’t owned by Channel Seven meaning it’s pretty much open to anybody who licenses it for commercial purposes. Also 2GB (owned by Nine) uses part of it for their Sports Report during Ben Fordham’s show.
Today, whenever I tune into Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane TV to see commercials, it’s mostly product ads. No localism like a couple of years ago. Adelaide, Perth and the regional networks are the big leaders in local advertising nowadays.
Unfortunately, 9NBN are airing way more product and metro-based ads than that of local ads. I have been aiming for plenty of local ads from Newcastle lately, but it seems they have been airing very few sets of them.
And plus, very few advertisers are putting their ads on NBN News, which is the network’s flagship 6pm news service. So you’ll see heaps of national and product based ads for most of the break, before a local ad to finish it off at the very end of the break.
Generally said, the best time for local ads is basically during the NRL kick-off and knock-off broadcasts, particularly on Sunday afternoons.
I see a lot of local ads during the morning news (Sunrise) on 7 Canberra.
Have you got some recordings of the ad breaks? And if not, can you please record them and post them here? Really appreciated. Cheers @Aaron_Evans_2005.
bring back Wallace Fairweather!
I saw a Queensland Country Bank ad on BTQ Gold Coast this afternoon during The Chase Australia. Such ad isn’t seen on the Brisbane station, and is very much only seen on the Seven Queensland stations in regional areas outside of the Gold Coast, I thought all advertising on BTQ Gold Coast was the same as Brisbane despite carrying a local 5:30pm Gold Coast bulletin.
