Why? It’s not a breakfast show.

Yesterday’s (13/02/2025) Marty Sheargold podcast is a good listen with Rosie Walton and Dangerous Dave stepping in.

They were all in the SCA studios because a colleague at SCA was celebrating 40 years at the company so the conversation between Rosie, Dave, Troy and Marty was primarily focused on the glory days of Melbourne FM radio and some interesting history of Austereo in the 90s.

Worth a listen if that interests you, just the first 20 minutes of the podcast before the full show dump.

Very interesting!!! Melbourne certainly holds on to the greats like Dange, Rosie and Troy. Where Brisbane and Sydney and Adelaide dont

Aren’t SCA’s management based in Melbourne.
They’ll cheapen the product elsewhere but keep Melbourne sounding strong and local.

Are you sure? I thought they were Melbourne based.

Upon doing a quick Google search, I can say that some results say they’re headquartered in Sydney, and some say they’re headquartered in Melbourne. Honestly, it’s hard to tell. Wikipedia says Melbourne, but I think no one trusts Wikipedia.

SCA’s corporate base is Melbourne, though I’m lead to believe most of the execs are in Sydney these days.

Should be like the good old days when they were in purgatory - sorry I mean Adelaide.

The actual location is probably less important these days

According to the Inside Mail column, a ‘popular and long serving’ Melbourne presenter on Southern Cross Austereo will be unceremoniously axed after their shift ends this morning.

So I guess it could be someone from either Triple M or Hit.

It’ll be Hit for sure. Isn’t Triple M new this year?

That‘s what I was thinking too. Mick or co. would be pretty unlucky to get the flick after four weeks on air.

If it is Triple M, I did wonder if it could be a daytime announcer like Dangerous Dave.

The fact it says, “this morning” likely makes it a breakfast team member.

But surely not Mick so soon?
