What date does Marty Sheargold come back?
I think the promo says 20th
Cheers Mark.
Really? Thatās awesome if true! Finally some changes to the stale 3MMM playlist. Will 2MMM follow?
Both the same atm.
Something so strong - Crowded House, followed by Lemonheads Mrs Robinson.
on both 105.1 and 104.9.
Methinks the random greenroom may have issued a false alarm.
I would be surprised if there is a change in music format like has been suggested.
Perhaps maybe closer to when the new breakfast shows launch?
Yes that makes more sense.
I must admit⦠that format does sound enticing⦠deeper album cuts 70s, (like a prime eye fillet), splash of classic rock 60ās (sweet Baby Rays Buffalo sauce)ā¦
Some comments in the Group suggesting the person may have it on Triple M Classic Rock.
Hopefully it is a change of ANY kind for the Eastern Mās.
Mind you, they should really go the other direction - more newer rock. Then again, itās obviously in response to the GOLD104.3 & WSFM recent changes skewing younger.
Except there is very little of it around these days.
Rock music seems to have become a more obscure genre for the millenials sadly.
Thatās exactly the reason why MMM doesnāt have its modern rock station anymore. Because it just isnāt being made.
The closest thing we have to decent āmodernā rock in 2025 (that can get airplay) is stuff like Jack Whiteās new album.
Thatās 100% the wrong direction - if youāre programming Magic or 4BH sure go that route - but massive backward step for Melb/Syd. Maybe okay in Brisbane and Adelaide with no FM classic hits to compete, but itās a gift for Gold to shift older elsewhere.
Maybe it will rate better in total people than going in the Perth direction, but canāt see it hitting the right demos.
Agree, i think they just need to widen the playlist as it is too repetitive.
Itās also not happening.
Iām sure he was on classic rock not 1051
What? Old people confused and talking crap in radio green room? Iām shocked!
Sounds like Media Spy! (looks in the mirror )
To be honest, that could be Triple M at timesā¦
The league coverage sounded like 2GBās Continuous Call Team: The Early Years, you could blame the CTE.
Well, the Sydney-based stuff did. Not the Newcastle-based stuff.
