I’m in the key demo thanks very much
I’m on the very upper edge, early 50s.
92.9 probably comes under “or whatever”.
Further highlights the dangers of running multiple formats under the one brand.
That seems really odd for a Triple M Perth Facebook post to list the frequencies of other Metro Triple M stations. Forget for a sec that they didn’t mention the Perth frequency in a post on the MMM Perth Facebook page, but outside of radio people who know that that’s the frequencies of 2MMM, 5MMM, 3MMM and 4MMM and maybe some people who’ve lived/travelled interstate, I don’t know what most people would even do with that information. If they tried those frequencies in Perth they’re certainly not going to get 6MMM.
Seems they’re totally ignoring their 5th market in that post, which is Perth.
If they flick to 104.9 FM, they’re gonna get RadioSpice instead.
And a free plug to Star104.5 to any Sydney listeners trying to figure out what this post means.
interestingly, that post has now been deleted off their page…
Probably because it was a genuine mistake to go on the Perth page. Automated posting?
Triple M Melbourne posted the same thing on Instagram so someone probably pushed send and forgot to unselect Perth.
In an interview with news.com.au’s Andrew Bucklow, Loren Barry opened up about her decision to leave The Marty Sheargold Show on Triple M late last year, and also discussed her new show The Hot Hits with Nic Kelly which starts tonight.
Let’s start with your time on The Marty Sheargold Show. Why did that come to an end?
I always knew that eventually I would want to take up a radio opportunity that would challenge me more and allow me to gain more skills in that landscape. I kind of felt, time is a ticking and I’m not getting any younger (laughs), so I felt like if it wasn’t now, when would it be? It was really hard to step away from the team … but I just knew it was the right time.
Have you had any contact with Marty since you left?
Look, Marty and I have been friends and colleagues for nine years. It’s a long time to work with anyone. He’s taught me everything I know about radio and has given me so many opportunities and for that I’ll always be grateful. The end of the year is always a really hectic time and I haven’t had a chance to chat with him yet. I don’t send Christmas cards but if I did he would be top of the list.
I don’t know why she wasn’t given a proper send off and why there was not a final producers podcast. She didn’t defect to another network.
