Still a hole 6-7pm… could see a local Rush Hour equivalent slotting in there.
Or mimic the Hit network and slot best of brekky in there
Especially so before mid April if they wanted to go the network route in that hour.
I’d say they are going back to the original Rush Hour formats in the northern states. 1 hour sports show 6-7.
Dobbo hosted the Brisbane/QLD one before while in NSW we’ve had Dan Ginnane originally and then MG.
Wish they’d go back local 3-4 and have Marty/JB&Billy 4-6 and Marty 6-7 highlights.
I know it won’t happen but imagine if they did something like WA, regional drive. I’m sure there is enough local talent in each stage to support.
music would be better best of brekky is just the same crap from the morning
Agree, can’t stand best of shows. I turn off straight away.
Agree. Cannot stand best of rubbish. It just seems desperate.
“Best of” is just very lazy programming.
Who cued the “just play rock music brigade” again?
Why do you say that?
It’s about the repeated content.
So you like that? Hearing a repeat of the same breakfast chatter?
The Ms need to listen to WS/Gold’s refresh.
There’s a decent gap between the Smooth, WS and MMM playlists that they could move to refresh.
No harm in having
Eurythmics and Simply Red, Phil Collins, U2,
Nirvana and Pearl Jam, Queen, Rolling Stones,
Hozier and even Jelly Roll and Benson Boone, Ocean Alley, Sam Fender and Kasabian
On the one station.
It’s just about getting the mix right.
And not just stopping the music for sports coverage for 10 hours
Sports actually brings in the money so that won’t be stopping soon.
I work in agency sales, can absolutely second that.
Advertising during live sports as well as sports-themed shows have always been in high demand.
Yep. Our footy in Newcastle was mostly local sales and they were clamouring to get on board.
I completely agree!
Apologies if this has been mentioned before but I heard an advert for Mick Molloy on MMM this morning that used a sound bite from his time on the Hot Breakfast. It was from when he announced that he was going to be a father, which at the time I thought was absolutely brilliant radio.
