Triple M Network

Yes they are, that’s why you have to listen on LiSTNR. Or sometimes I’ve listened on my transistor radio instead

So are they telling people to listen to Riverfire via Listnr to get the synced music? (rather than FM). Even then I doubt the experience will be the same for everyone, as different ISPs will have different lags, particularly if you are on mobile.

Further to the above, the Triple M NRL Broadcast details for Round 26 list that Triple M Brisbane will be taking the Broncos vs Dolphins game from 5.25pm on Saturday afternoon.

So not exactly sure what they’re planning come Riverfire time at 7pm, while they are likely in the final few minutes of the second half.

I have to ask. What was going on with Triple M Newcastle tonight. Instead of the NRL Coverage they played 20 minutes of Triple M home grown until they finally realised the mistake. I don’t know if it is automated or a techy played the wrong audio.

Cause i was listening at work and wondered what was going on. Being on a machine i’m not allowed to have my phone on me

Likely someone in Content picked the wrong SCAsat channel when formguiding and it wasn’t picked up until it went to air. You then have to have someone log in from home and change it over, or call the NOC and ask them to do it for you.

Brisbane hooker Billy Walters has dropped a broadcast bombshell by quitting his role with Triple M following savage criticism of his father, Broncos coach Kevin, and the club’s “poncy rock stars”.

The Walters family are at loggerheads with Triple M after the NRL rights holder’s breakfast show delivered a stinging critique of Walters’ coaching ability and the attitude of Brisbane players.

Former Wallabies star Greg Martin, Dan Anstey and Margaux Parker, the wife of former Broncos skipper Corey, head up Triple M’s popular Marto, Margaux and Dan breakfast show in Brisbane.

It is understood Walters’ wife, Narelle, was so stunned by Martin’s attack she called Margaux after the segment to express her disappointment.

As the mystery remains about who will host Melbourne’s Triple M breakfast next year, Kate Langbroek has not ruled out teaming up with comedy great Dave Hughes once more.

Langbroek, who was taking sneaky sips from a mini bottle of Firewater whiskey to keep up her stamina on the red carpet at the Logie Awards, said she loved doing radio but had “not formally” been approached to return to the medium “well, not at this point.”

Asked if she would like to work with Hughes again, the pair has had tremendous success as a radio team on KIIS, the Hit Network and Nova, she teased “Dave Hughes? I have heard of that name.”

Of course Kate is open to the idea.

Let’s not forget, she only left Hughesy & Kate so she could be overseas for a year. Then the show was chopped and altered, with Hughesy going to 2DayFM breakfast, and Kate going to ARN’s KIIS.

She is far from radio retirement - so it only makes sense for her and Hughesy to “get the band back together”.

I just don’t know if 3MMM Breakfast is the right fit.

Triple M Brisbane with split programming due to the Riverfire/NRL clash.

NRL airing on 104.5 FM and Listnr stream as of 5.30pm. Breakfast team broadcasting live from South Bank on DAB+.

EDIT: Fireworks soundtrack only appeared on DAB+. 104.5 FM and streaming stuck with NRL for the entire game.

Anyone else feel the Triple M 1045 Riverfire coverage (and Riverfire itself) was a bit messy this year?
Globemaster came early and was missed by Triple M who had NRL on the FM broadcast and some music playing on the speaker system in the city, before the announcers came on to say they’d missed it (or rather 1 announcer did and the other two were yet to arrive according to them). Planes also came later this year as usually they start before 5pm.

Anyone know if this is due to Triple M’s NRL broadcasting rights & scheduling? Or just Riverfire in general?

I’ve been listening to MMM at work - during the day the music mix is quite good but come 3 pm with the Marty Sheargold how i turn it off. i don’t want 5 mins of inane pratter and one song

I feel the same about most of the FM stations including Mix Adelaide and K-Rock Geelong. During the day the music is good and has a local feel. 3:00pm they revert back to “Comedy” and endless talk and it is switch off time.

Always said Drive should be a good announcer. WA regional MMM do it well. The drive with Cliff Reaves

MMM should use Dave Williams to do something similar

Yet the “inane drivel” of Rush Hour rates well above the station average.

Marty’s show would work better at 6pm IMO.

The best one in Australia is ‘Davo Drives Ya Home’ on the Rebel. It’s all about the music and Davo picks the music. I love it.

Yep, it’s the best.

Interesting that the Melbourne breakfast show only has three weeks remaining yet no word on who will be there permanently. Unless Rosie, Will and Daisy will be quietly made permanent?

Hughesy & Kate.

Why else would they happen to be at SCA Melbourne the other day? Interviewed on The Fox.

Triple M Adelaide doing stupid stuff again; they have dumped the Number One drive Adelaide show - Rush hour for the Melb version!!

Serisouly do they not look next door to Kiss and see what happens when this occurs! Do they not look back 10yrs when they tried this before?

They are number one for a reason, they became the voice of Adelaide/Local.

Adelaide peeps want to hear Adelaide!!

Who are the idiots that run this station??
