They’ve done it before, that’s how they IDd it when I was living on the Gold Coast in the late 1990s.
SCA regional’s best era was when they had all their heritage brands, with just an hourly sweep stating, “part of the Triple M network”.
That’s a no brainer.
Listeners understand that larger networks own the brands, but they don’t understand why they all HAVE to be called Triple M?
Nearing two years of HT Gold on air, if SCA was reacting to that, it’s long delayed. Unlikely I’d say.
HT Gold is a digital station, there’s never been any marketing for it (streaming only station Mix FM Light receives far more mentions) and isn’t listed in the GC survey results.
Maybe given recent positioner changes across some regional ARN stations, maybe SCA GC wanted to reintroduce the Gold brand as a block in case it ever became “Pure Gold Hot Tomato”.
Metro and Regional using one log (with some slight variations for regionals) for the 12 Countdowns of Christmas, which started today.
And most of the songs on the regionals are rock tracks, could it possibly mean that the Triple M Regionals could go back to a “Rock’s Greatest Hits” format like they did in 2020-22? (I doubt it though)
Nope. This happens every year where they run the same log for a few weeks
Agree, the summer log on the regional Ms is a lot closer to the metro log.
Just found out on LiSTNR and DAB+ is that Triple M Tradie Radio has reverted back to Triple M 90s.
the inconsistency of these DAB stations is beyond me… they really should be focusing on fixing their MAIN stations ffs
as long as the metro log doesnt get dumbed down
for the regionals
As a regional dumb Triple M listener, maybe you should consider, that maybe, just maybe, the music on the regional station’s is actually worth a try on the metro stations.
Also from a dumb regional listener ‘doesnt’ has an apostrophe.
Yes I am offended by the ‘dumb down’ line…
The change back to Triple M 90s seemed to happen this morning. The sponsorship money for Tradie Radio must have dried up.
I liked Tradie Radio but I felt like it was too similar to Triple M 2000s because the station mainly played 90s and 00s. At least there is more of a point of difference now. And they don’t need to make new sweepers either!
Maybe they should go for the other end of the spectrum?
Triple M Top Drawer Radio
No Chisel, Angels or bogan songs… but what to play? hmmm?
Meanwhile, it sounds like Dave Gleeson is on his summer break.
He is, it’s just automated music at nights now until probably late January.
R.I.P. Tradie Radio, You’ll be Forgotten in a Hurry!
A massive summer of cricket planned?
I have a massive summer of not listening planned.
Hopefully we’ll see the previous Tradie Radio playlist pop up on 2/3MMM.
