Triple M Network

Agree, more variety would be great, but apart from that I don’t think the music is the problem, it’s the gab fest that goes on in too many timeslots.

I can understand why they have the sport ($$$$) even though I listen to the ABC for any football or cricket for that.

SCA announced this morning that Lehmo (current co-host of SAFM breakfast show with Rebecca Morse) would return to Melbourne next year to be part of Triple M programming.

Lehmo hosted Triple M drive show Wil & Lehmo with Wil Anderson from 2007 to 2008 but had also been a regular contributor to the network.

Was he living in Adelaide or was he mostly doing SAFM breakfast from Melbourne?

I know when he first started doing SAFM breakfast he still continued his weekly spot on Hot Breakfast in the Melbourne studio.

Including one time he accidentally mentioned the “13 10 60” HIT network phone number on-air to much amusement from Eddie McGuire. Eddie then empathetically said it was alright as Lehmo “had been wearing a lot of radio hats lately”.

Really Surprised that none of the Jocks have Mentioned the new Station Triple M 2000’s

Digital is dead to them. All about flogging that one word they can’t spell correctly, Listnr.

Agree, I think Listnr is a hard sell if you have to spell it out all the time, as they always do on air.

Personally I think they would have been better off keepjng the separate Hit and Triple M apps and put the content on the most appropriate app(s).

…and is also not even an original misspelling of the word as well

It’s miles better than Hard n Heavy. Great selection of music. Kudos to them.

But in order to compete with Audible, ABC Listen and iHeartRadio apps they need a central app for all their content.

Also being forced to align all their content with either Hit or Triple M wouldn’t be easy. Instead, they have been able to launch alot of successful podcasts on Listnr that aren’t part of the Hit or Triple M brands.

The only questionable thing is the misspelling of List(e)n(e)r!

They could put all content on both.

I don’t see the point in creating a separate app/brand when they could just build on the existing Hit and Triple M app/brands, and I agree re the spelling!

I agree. It’s much more personal to just have the Triple M or Hit/Fox/2Day/etc apps with shared content.

The Nova/Smooth/Star Player is a good example of how it could/should be done.

Has Pagey been moved on quietly over the past few weeks in preparation for next year? You can really tell how much heavy lifting he did on the show, it’s actually very poor without him.

More than poor, the show is actually damaging the station. Pagey was the heart and soul of the Grill Team, Lawrence Mooney’s show and now this. He one of the best anchor/presenters in the country and his efforts are surely missed. Without him, the MMM Breakfast is a trainwreck. I’m really trying to stay loyal to this station, but gee they are making hard for themselves.

Who is anchoring/taking Pagey’s place in the meantime?

Cat Lynch. Great FM Music broadcaster but not a breakfast anchor yet.

Chris page will leave Triple M Sydney at the end of this year - RadioInfo Australia

Yeah I have to agree, I switched to SEN at the moment.

Yeah knew this, looks like they’ve moved him on early.

Still back announced as MG, Jess & Pagey, unlike when Mooney was moved on and the show quickly was rebranded Triple M Sydney Breakfast. So presumably an expectation Page will return, but with only 2 weeks left maybe not. Either way without him the show is a punish.

They could look at Kerrang Radio in UK for reference – they play a mix of 2000s rock and modern day rock, and they have sub-genres specialty stations as well.
