Triple M Network

Good point, didn’t think of that

With all the cost-cutting and networking going on at SCA, could we see Moonman In The Morning on 104.9 Sydney and 105.1 Melbourne?

Can’t imagine it doing very well on either if this was to happen, but the recent HIT regionals decision seems to suggest SCA are at least interested in networked breakfast.

Or maybe add Marty Sheargold to Moonman & network across Syd & Melb like the old days of The Cage (which IMO was one of the funniest brekkie shows ever).

I recall The Cage also had opted-out segments that only aired in one market for example AFL and NRL specific segments. National breakfast with some local opt outs could work.

One wonders if Radio Today (dare I say it) is on the money with this one, and we’ll be seeing national networking of Moonman with local opt-ins. Would make sense why 92.9 Perth hasn’t been rebranded, however I’m not sure there wouldn’t be a big backlash, especially in Adelaide & Brisbane.

Would also somewhat go against SCA’s statement of MMM being about “localism”, but knowing SCA, anything is possible.

Having spent a but of time listening to Moonman in the Morning in the past week while in Sydney, noticed that the first break out of the 7 o’clock news is consistently a straight replay of the first break out of the 6 o’clock news. While some shows replay some of their early breaks towards the end of the show with few tuning in for the whole show, does seem to lack imagination opening the biggest hour with a repeat.

While Mooney’s character voices are in some cases entertaining, some are clearly at the end of their shelf life and need to be put out to pasture. Malcolm Turnbull hasn’t been PM for over 2 years and yet he is still trying to milk it.

He needs Marty.

Welcome @A105, typical of SCA, they are on the bare bones of their backside and out of creativity.

And yet nobody is doing Rocktober. Now there’s an untapped market for the good folk of Braidwood.

SCA still own the Rocktober trademark, it’s criminal that they don’t use it.

Thanks for letting me know; I will have to use ‘Rocking October’ or something just to be safe. Not that SCA should care about my small fry show, but stranger things have happened.

Use Rocktober until they complain, then get the media involved, everyone loves a David and Goliath banning, best free publicity to be banned, it’s not like they can charge you for using it without notice.

That might be true but as I’m a newcomer to the station, I shouldn’t rock the boat (pardon the pun). Fastest way to get booted out.

It will be interesting to see if JB and Billy continue next year. It is barely a show now a days and even then JB is missing a lot.

From what i’ve heard (podcast bits) its a lot of having a go at Bill’s inability to speak and a lot of references to it being ok, cause it’s live when it clearly isnt.

Rocktober sounded good. Great play on a word.

Oztober is somewhat clunky.
