Anchored by Sharyn Ghidella and Max Futcher, commercial-free coverage will begin with 45-minutes of presentations from Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner and IOC president Thomas Bach.
This will be followed by the
all-important IOC vote, with the announcement to be broadcast live in 7NEWS at 6pm

Yeah but as someone who booked a holiday to go to Brisbane for the entire week event and had to cancel because of lockdown and border closures leaving me devastated, I want to watch the entire thing

I hope I’m pleasantly surprised with a proper olympics set, because the above ain’t a set, just like the Gold Coast 2018… it wasn’t one , both lacking and uninspiring,

What’s the entire week event? I believe there’s going to be a live site at Southbank probably showing Channel 7 from 4pm, but other than that I haven’t heard anything.
In any case I think for most people in Brisbane it’s gonna be a reaction of "Cool, we got it’, rather than delirious joy.
BREAKING: Brisbane’s skyline is ready to light up on Wednesday night as the International Olympics Committee is set to hand down its historic 2032 Games decision.
Fireworks are ready to be set off from river barges and CBD buildings in the event Brisbane secures the Olympics. Brisbane’s buildings, bridges and City Hall will also turn green and gold.
Free festivities will kick off at the South Bank Olympics Live site from 10am, with the official program starting at 4pm.
Aussie music icons Jon Stevens and Busby Marou will entertain the crowd at South Bank, as well as on-stage interviews with Olympians and Paralympians, family entertainment and sporting demonstrations.
If we’re successful, the Olympic Games – the biggest sporting spectacular in the world – has the potential to transform our state for decades.

Oh cool thanks didn’t know that - but it’s just a one day thing, not a week long event.
I think that because it’s basically been a done deal for a while now detracts from the announcement moment, even though it is still obviously significant.
Only authorised workers will now be allowed from Sydney to Melbourne. It’s a wait and see game to see if hosts will be in Melbourne
Does that kick in midnight tonight or immediately?
If it’s the former, I reckon the Sydney presenters will be on the next flight down to Melbourne.
Why? they have to quarantine for two weeks as it is.
My comment was under the assumption they get exemptions, which is still a big ‘if’.
