Eddy was presenting entertainment on Sunrise this morning.
I imagine thereâs embargoes, but seeing as Foxtel have published it and others have published that chart above
Guides for Thursday week (night before Opening Ceremony) have:
Front Bar Olympics special, possibly all markets, 8:30pm.
7mate: Softball (from late afternoon).
7mate: Menâs Football (from 8:15pm).
Various news outlets reporting the Olympics will have no crowds
Herald sun wonât be having any redeemable items this year for the games
Seven will be very disappointed to hear that there will be no crowds at Tokyo. Iâd expect viewing numbers to be less than what they couldâve been if there were spectators.
How? It will be the same possibly even more as people canât attend. People are watching FOR SPORTING PERFORMANCE not to watch fans
There wonât be any atmosphere due to there being no crowd, so people may decide to watch alternatives on Nine and Ten instead.
Similar to viewers who need a laugh track to tell them when a line in a program is funny?
@VictorianSun No one from Australia was going to Japan to watch the games anyway, so it shouldnât matter.
Iâm talking in general
Ridiculous take. No reason why Seven or the Olympics organisers in Japan can inject stadium noises in artificially like what happened with the AO this year.
Still hurts the coverage a bit. Maybe not a lot but it willâŚ
Ive just checked foxtelâs tv guide for the 21st and it seems nothing so far for the 2032 announcement in the guide from any of the FTA channels listed
This looks like the commentary position in Melbourne. Bruce and Tamsyn Manou getting ready for Tokyo
Doubt is will exactly be like that. Iâd presume theyâd have smaller versions of the one/s they used for cricket/footy remotely.
I intend to agree, just put it out there just to generate discussion. It will no doubt be the most unique Olympics ever, itâll be interesting to see how 7 pull it off thatâs for sure.
The atmosphere wont be a problem on tv. they would just audio genarate it. But still wont be the same. No crowds and a fake atmosphereâŚ
The announcement should come during the 6pm AEST News Bulletins.
Checked across 7Mate and 7 for the Thursday and saw this
9:45am - Softball Australia v Japan - 7MATE
9:15pm - Football - Matildaâs v New Zealand - 7
I thought as per previous years Seven put strict embargoes to media (including Iâm guessing MS)? Which is why I included that disclaimer in my previous comment and only posted it as clearly that specific info wasnât embargoed as Foxtel publicity published it.
I think the lack of crowds will hurt the Olympics more than it has for team sports weirdly.
One of the best parts of the Olympics is the huge noise before the 100m track final, then the hush before the starterâs gun, then the cheers returning to a roar. Itâs going to feel completely hollow, as will the entire games.
The piped in noise does okay - you can suspend disbelief for a bit - but thereâs no doubt itâs not the same.
