Is the OBS stream which is freely available on Seven’s website delayed as well?
Only if she got that last piece of beef. Dam Greg .
That ad is probably the best ad of the Olympics.
Oh ffs.
Another view:
CBC’s set for their coverage of the Tokyo Olympics. Not sure if they’re based in Toronto or Tokyo for their coverage.
Exactly… like unless you’re betting on the javelin I’m not sure too many people will lose much sleep over a 3 minute delay.
Can’t believe people are still complaining about a 3 minute delay for a field event. It happens for most major athletic meets that are broadcast, it’s just the nature of having track and field events on at the same time.
7+ is live and free with dedicated athletic event channels if you really want to watch that.
I recall being in the stadium at the 2018 GC Comm Games and you couldn’t watch it all at once even being there. There was women’s 200m, men’s pole vault, women’s long jump and women’s discus all happening at the same time. I didn’t know where to look.
It would surely be Toronto with that set.
There’s also a hell of a lot of dead time with the field events.
The main channel was always going to be curated and Seven are doing it in such a way to maximise the events that they decide to cover, I get that it’s not going to make everyone happy but theres also another channel showing events pretty well uninterupted and 40 odd channels via streaming.
Exactly. People are acting like there is no other option. Welcome to the limitations of traditional linear FTA TV.
A shame that they aren’t showing the diving on any channels. There is an Australian in the event and I don’t think I’ve seen any diving showing on any channels throughout the olympics. Happy to be proven wrong, but there is usually quite a good following especially with Tom Daley in it as well (although he is UK)
Lucky we have the app, but a shame.
Of course now they go to the diving!
There has been a small amount shown previously as well, but not extensive.
I feel like in Australian coverage it is well overlooked and the Aussies in it dont get their time time to shine. So much coverage of the usual swimming, track and field but I hope moving into future broadcasters are more broad in showcasing Aussies in the Olympics across events that aren’t their standard focus.
Australia’s Melissa Wu finished third in women’s 10m platform diving. Her event was shown (either live or delayed) on TV on Wednesday and Thursday.
Quite a bit of diving yesterday afternoon before The Chase.
Surely Seven and Bogut could have/should be able to come to an arrangement for his contract to be extended for one more game to cover the Bronze Medal Game?
That seems odd he isn’t doing the medal game.
The gold medal match between the U.S. men’s basketball team and France is airing live in US primetime both on NBC and Peacock beginning at 10:30 p.m. ET.
