What do you mean by that? They were pretty good I thought. They are the experts in that field so that’s why they’re doing it.
They sounded like first year sports journalism students. Had some great energy but if you catch yourself saying (words to the effect of) ‘I should let the skateboarding do the talking’… maybe stop talking?

Just saw them turn off the LIVE AND FREE portion of the watermark during the replay of the volleyball. Good to see! Tagline or not, it says LIVE which is deceptive

Just an update on this, don’t know whether the watermarks are now being controlled from Melbourne or not, but they’ve fixed it (when they go to a delay or highlights they’re now removing the “Live & Free” straight away, I think as of a couple of days ago, it’s a quick fade chance in-program too, this wasn’t happening last week).

I got a chance to watch an evening of NBC’s Olympic coverage the other afternoon and was shocked how bad it was, so not surprised that the ratings are low; however the timezone is much less favourable than 2016 Rio which was perfect for USA.
The coverage I saw was way over-produced and lacked any sense of being live - for the most part it wasn’t. For several events shown they were recorded during the day then a package was made that included post event interview and family back home cheering in the lounge, interviews with them, coaches etc and that was played out when convenient. I was watching along with people in the US who were wondering who had won events that had been shown live in Australia hours before. It also was notable that an American seemed to win every event covered that night - perhaps that is the strategy? The biggest shock (for me) came when the local news bulletin came on at 10.30 pm local time - right in the middle of the day’s events in Tokyo.

They put the Men’s basketball game on peacock instead of NBC or NBCSN
Yeah, the NBC coverage is virtually unwatchable when I’ve been able to view portions of it. It’s pretty much sliced, diced and presented as reality TV. Dreadful.

Say what you want about Channel 7, but Hamish riding that skateboard on set just now was pretty funny. At least they are having some fun with the coverage.

David Culbert’s view. Monitor on the left is a CCTV camera to Bruce and Tamsyn presumably only in the next booth. Then what appears to be the 2 feeds for 7 and 7mate stacked. Then the larger screen is the OBS raw feed he commentates from.
