Today (2015-Sept 2020)

Fingers crossed for a revamped set, graphics and format (the latter has already been confirmed). New EP would be nice too.

Lisa does do the local weather for Perth and Natalia does the national. Depending on the rundown, they will have both or one lots of weather.

Anyway, Lisa is working on breakfast radio, IIRC, next year so they will likely drop the local segment.

Great to see 3AW radio’s senior producer for Neil Mitchell & former long-time State Political Reporter Heidi Murphy, doing Weekend Today live-crosses for Melbourne.

IIRC, she’s done Today for about 2-3 Years.

As some have predicted, Today Perth News is on a break from this week. Meanwhile, Sunrise Perth is on as normal.

Next week:

There is no Today (or Sunrise) on Monday Christmas Day.

Tue - Fri

Today runs 6am - 9.30am AEDT and is live into all markets with the Fourth Test following at 9.30 am AEDT.

Weekend Today is 7am - 9.30 am on Saturday.

Today Extra is obviously out for the week (pending progress of the test match)

Could Today go back to 6am starts next year? With 30 min news bulletin at 5.30 with Sylvia?

Today still starts at 5:30am…

Poor Chris. This is not how it was supposed to be.

You can tell that Chris Uhlmann is thinking “Why did I leave the ABC for this s***?!” in that short clip! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

You can also tell just how much money Nine must have offered for him to even consider being a part of this garbage.

What the fuck is he even doing? Why are presenters being shown how to stab people?

This has to be one of the funniest on-air transformations of all time. From serious and respected journo handling politics at the ABC to breakfast telly at Nine.

I love the bit where he scratches his head. He looks so lost, he probably wished he was at home in bed.

And I love the first comment on that tweet.

“You can make me fulfil the obligations of my contract but you can’t make me like it” :joy:

Well if a network is paying you the big bucks you have to do what they say whether you like it or not.

Michael Rowland is now officially a legend.

I don’t even understand what Nine is thinking.

He has become a laughing stock among colleagues and there are even politicians now chiming in with jabs. The credibility that he brought across from the ABC is gone. This is supposed to be the man who represents the very best of the Nine News brand and is the pinnacle of its reporting team as Political Editor.

And they are flushing his reputation with both viewers and within the industry down the drain for what? Even Neil Breen would be a better option if they are desperate for a fill-in presenter.

I’d love to know why the host of Weekend Today (Tom Steinfort) is reduced to doing sport. Surely he’d be a better option to host with Deb who he’s been hosting with all year.

He was absolutely fine as a three minute guest discussing the news of the day when he was editor of The Sunday Telegraph about ten years ago. I can’t take anymore than that.
