Comments on social media aren’t clearly reflected in the ratings. People have commented they never liked her but we all know how reliable social media is…
“We were always at war with Eastasia.”
I was going to say the same thing. Didn’t think there was much care factor for Monica tbh. It’s just that perth residents don’t change their channels after the News.
This was posted on the Perth Facebook page, but still no on air acknowledgement that the show is ending:
Although when Mark Readings handed back to Monika tonight, she said it was a privilege working with him.
Meanwhile in Adelaide, tonight there were another couple of mentions about the end of TT, once during the handover from 7 News and the other at the end of the show.

I’m curious as to why TT Perth was given to the end of the week, while TT Adelaide was shafted immediately…
Adelaide wraps up tomorrow. I havent checked the guides but perhaps adelaide was never going to get TT on friday due to cricket?
There’s an hour Seven News scheduled for Friday in Adelaide. Weird they’re ending on a Thursday and couldn’t even see the week out.
Also, unless they’ve known about this internally for a while, you’d imagine they’d have at least a few shows worth of content already produced, now potentially wasted by ending so quickly.
This content would easily be re-packaged for a one hour news bulletin, if any was available.
Today Tonight was in the original schedule for Adelaide on Friday night.
Staff were told on Tuesday morning, before it went public later that afternoon. But, the axings have been speculated for a long time now- they probably expected they would still go over summer though.
These stories that have been produced and haven’t made it to air will be filtered in to the 7 News bulletin, as will future consumer stories.
A decent look back on the past for the whole of the final show in Adelaide tonight.
And Rosanna confirmed she would be rejoining the news room next year. Unlikely, but maybe joining Jane at 6pm?
Similar things can probably be said about Seven axing the local weekend travel programs, but that’s for another thread.
…and unlike the axing of Today Tonight on the East Coast (which if I remember correctly, happened suddenly on a Monday morning), at least the teams in Adelaide & Perth have been/are being given the opportunity to properly farewell their audience.
Obviously this won’t be the case from next week, but I wonder if “TT versions” of Helen Wellings consumer stories were still being produced for Adelaide & Perth in addition to the pieces that aired on the East Coast editions of Seven News?

Tonight, Monica addressed the Show’s axing in Perth. I’m still surprised they did not mention this on air earlier in the week as I imagine a majority of their loyal viewers don’t have Social Media accounts.
I thought she already read the 4pm news?
