When networks undergo cost-cutting, they always find room to hire ‘big’ talent. A similar thing happened with ESPN a few years ago when they through a period of laying off people.

I’m okay with this, she’s not a big loss to Nine though. I reckon Brooke will be moving to Today Extra rather than Georgie.

I must say I am a bit sad to see Sonia go, because her chemistry with David was fantastic compared to what we have seen on Today for the last two years. Their chemistry would only come 2nd to Larry and Kylie on morning TV at the moment.
I agree with everyone else in that Brooke should replace her. Georgie should go back to Nine News Sydney. At least then, Brooke and Dickie can still share entertainment duties.
Livinia Nixon, Brooke, Shelly Craft or Rebecca Maddern would my guesses for the Carols.
