Is there really any point to closing and opening the main topics? Like you closed the thread one day and 24 hours later reopened it.
Makes it much easier to find if people want to look for the specific relaunch discussion in the future (caps and videos etc). It was always planned to close it for 24 hours then re-open.

Big numbers yesterday. I think that is the highest number since Georgieâs farewell day. Maybe 2016 is finally the year TODAY returns to number 1.

Yeah, Iâm pretty sure that Today is running their âBlock Of Cashâ competition again this year while Sunrise have something similar with the Cash Cow.

He seems to have made a lot of odd/unfortunate moves in his career. He quit Seven for Fox Sport in '96 just as he wouldâve had the opportunity to be involved with the Atlanta and Sydney Olympics. You would think he wouldâve been a shoe in to replace Kenny Sutcliffe on the Sydney news when he retires given he fronts so many of Nineâs important sporting telecasts. I wonder if Steve Crawley is taking him to Fox Sports?

Going to be interesting to see who replaces him on Weekend Today.
My choice would be David Campbell despite him hosting 'Today Extra '.
Just thinking l hope itâs not Peter Stefanovic!

I would hope FOX Sports would get him and use him for the NRL coverage and the new channel next year. They need more people.

Effective immediately?
According to news.com Camâs shock exit is because contract negotiations stalled.
Fox Sports sources denied Williams had a role to play at pay TV network.

If you ask me, Seven News Sydney would be wise to sign up Cameron Williams if they can! They could probably do with a familiar Nine face (yeah, I know that Cam was presented sport on Seven Nightly News Sydney back in the '90s before moving to Fox Sports as NewsWeary pointed out) to boost the profile/ratings of the news service.

Iâm shocked! Cam played a big role while at Nine and itâs unfortunate that this has happened. Wonder who his replacement will be, maybe theyâll get Stevie Jacobs as a temporary replacement.

Cam would be a good pick-up for FOX Sports, but Seven could use him as well in Sydney.

[/quote] David Campbell well in truly deserves this role. As I mentioned in the 9 News Presenters and Reporters thread, I am genuinely shocked and saddened by Camâs departure and was an asset to Nine. However, for some time, I have support the movement that Cam move on from Weekend TODAY. He never really had the chemistry, flexibility, compassion and humour for breakfast television and at times can be boring. David is however perfect and I think this position will be a hint of Karl succession next year.

[/quote] I donât believe that. Cam felt sincere in his announcement and I think he was getting bored at the network. His WWOS hosting gig has decreased in recent years with the rise of both Erin Molan and Yvonne Sampson. Also I donât think all of last year, including summer 2014, he anchored the 6pm News at all and he was the last original Weekend TODAY member. I believe Cam really is getting bored with Nine, it can happen, and there doesnât always have to be a controversial source information.

[/quote] If Camâs departure is effective immediately, Peter Stefanovic will undoubtedly be ushered into the position, and as a result would be surprised if Pete was NOT asked or given Camâs job permanently. As I mentioned above, IMO David is the perfect choice for the WEEKEND role. I personally think, he would be a great co-host with Lisa on the weekday show but I can clearly understand why he wouldnât be asked or might not be liked. Other names I think could be thrown into the mix include Steve Jacobs and Ben Fordham. Stevie has confirmed that when his children begin school he wonât be able to travel around Australia anymore and negations will be made about that, I think it has already happened since TODAY weather has been increasingly in the studio of late. IMO, the weather should be presented as an OB the majority of time so Stevie could host Weekend Today and Natalia Cooper would do TODAY weather. And then there is Ben Fordham. He never really wanted to leave TODAY, has stated that he always wanted to be on TODAY and said whatever job they offered him he would take it, but with radio and family commitments it all really collided.
