Today (2015-Sept 2020)

Who when it was owned by Time was a reputable publication. Every story was properly researched to ensure it was true. Yes, it is now trash.

It seems like New Idea took the tweet Lisa made about Pauline and made a whole fictional story over it .

I found the current Today Show graphics including the backdrop

Those that guessed Karl and Ali were going to do a Rap Battle on Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa show, well you guessed right

Definitely needs a fourth host, and Dickie still looks out of his depth on this show.

Much better coming from the bigger studio however.

Today beaten by 2 channel rating for News Breakfast on Monday. The show’s equal lowest OzTAM rating.

TV Tonight reports it as “Today hits record low”.

My link has been deleted. I don’t know why. There was nothing about ratings figures in that preview. You could only see the ratings number once you clicked on the story.

I believe that the TV Tonight article reference to Today’s previous low is incorrect. I’m sure it is just an oversight and will be fixed in due course.

AFAIK, the ratings recorded yesterday were an equal low - the same ratings number was recorded on Friday 1 November 2019.

I see that Mumbrella is also reporting the “record low”.

Here is an old TVT post that definitely supports my “equal low” claim.

I guess hitting an all-time low again is technically still hitting an all-time low.

However, Mumbrella say “a new record low” which is incorrect.

Given those ratings figures are available elsewhere on the board, I felt it was superfluous.

The numbers are worrying but not surprising, I think Nine have actually just saved them selves some massive $$$ with Karl’s contract (executed before the public bashlash) due for renewal at the end of the year.

Yep. Considering the ratings of late it’s probably fair to say that while Karl Stefanovic may have (or had in the past) his loyal and vocal fans, most of the audience has moved on from him.

Of course I could turn out to be completely wrong, but at the moment I genuinely wouldn’t be overly surprised if Nine eventually does an Alan Jones & Ray Hadley/Ian Ross/Kyle & Jackie O and at least attempts to poach key members of the Sunrise team (from both on-air and behind the scenes) for the next era of Today.
