Yeah, it’s no coincidence that the most successful, ratings topping breakfast shows (both in TV and radio) and news bulletins are those with the presenters that audiences have come to know and trust over the course of several years.
But at the same time, I think it was important to say how stable Sunrise has been while talking about the revolving door that is Today. Being a network which has relatively stable 6pm news presenting teams on the East Coast, you’d think Nine would remember some of the lessons from those (while simultaneously, not wrecking the flow of the news as they arguably have in Sydney) when establishing a team for Today.

It was kind of fortuitous that Sunday Night was axed for Big Brother for him. He seems like a nice guy and from the country too so will probably/hopefully resonate with that folk.
I think their main issue is Pell always scoops them with any celebrity/entertainment event in Australia and they need an experienced producer/presenter with contacts and not from has beens from the 80s.

I’ve seen 2 FB posts about the new lineup by media outlets in Brisbane and both are drawing LOTS of negative comments, particularly about the departure of Steve and Richard.

WA’s Tracy Vo’s ascension has meant a reshuffle to Nine’s local Perth news offering in 2020, with viewers waking up to popular presenter Michael Genovese on Today Perth from January 6, when he’ll present live and local bulletins at 6am, 6.30am, 7am, 7.30am and 8am.
