And Rebecca Maddern.
Glad to see Rebecca Maddern finally got a permanent gig.
Wait. No weekend sports presenter? Clint gone?
I like the look of this. Hopefully it translates into fresh graphics.
Lol Iâm about to write the same.
Whereâs the sports reader for WT unless of course Clint is still it but if he was, how pathetic that he was left out of the promo.
For those who donât know, Tim Davies used to be a producer for The Morning Show.
He features heavily in this 2011 segment:
Gee look at those hair plugs on Karlos.
Should bring back Richard Reid for entertainment.
Great to have Tracy Vo and Alex Cullen joining, both with plenty of experience
Shame about Stevie going.
Tracy Vo - what a perfect appointment. She has the experience, credibility and is a familiar face in both East and West sides of the country. I canât say Iâve seen her in the form of rolling coverage, but I canât think of a better choice for newsreader. And letâs not forget to mention that Ally and Tracy are good friends already after working together in the Sydney newsroom earlier this decade.
Alex Cullen - Sure, heâs been a surprisingly pleasant addition over Summer. I can see him working well with the team and being a bit of a larrikin, like Fordo was.
Tim Davies - No complaints here either. Weâve seen him as weekend weather presenter and heâs done outstandingly. Whilst Karl and Stevie were a great duo, I can definitely see this working too.
So a BIG thumbs up from me. I think this lineup will give Sunrise a good run for its money.
Pell sounds nervous. I saw a poll with 50,000 responses and 65% say they will be watching Karl not Kochie.
Nine puts the cart before the horse again. I guess theyâll find out if this diverse group has any chemistry along with the rest of us when they throw the new âteamâ together in early January.
Individually theyâre all competent, likeable people but it doesnât appear theyâve screen tested this group to see how the dynamics work and theyâre just hoping for the best- that theyâll all get along and have an instant rapport and comraderie.
Itâs like a pot luck dinner. Throw whatever ingredients you have in the pantry into the bowl, cross your fingers and hope for the best. Perhaps theyâll magically stumble across the prize winning dish this time.
Which was exactly the same problem in 2019.
So close.
Itâs even more throw together this year than last. Deb and Tom had hosted weekends together for a year and Deb and Georgie worked together on the show for many years as a part of the fill-in team. And both Stevie and Richard had worked with all of them before as staples of the show.
Youâd think that after all these team changes, theyâd learn two things:
- Conduct market research on the team during the research stage and also regularly throughout their stints on air
- Do chemsitry tests before throwing them all on air together.
Interesting lineup. Sad about Stevie (as Iâve said). Wouldâve liked seeing Tom remain part of the weekday team.
Very interesting to see Bec Madern on weekends. Great move. Not sure about Richard Wilkins.
Could see from a mile away that Sylvia would be staying on Today Extra.
And as others have mentioned, sad that Clint wonât be part of weekends / no weekend sport presenter.
That looks great. Hoping this look translates on air!
Lara Vella will be presenting the news on Weekend Today while Jayne is on maternity leave.
Lauren Phillips is set to replace Tim on weekends too.
@Nicholas, yeah canât wait. it reminds me of âGOOD MORNING AMERICAâ (GMA)
