Shame Stevie is leaving- especially since he indicated he wanted to return. I think Iād rather have him host weekends than Richard. Bec Maddern and Tracy Vo are great additions though.

Very happy that Rebecca Maddern will be hosting on weekends she has always been a great talent.
Tracy Vo and Tim Davies deserve this chance on weekdays both great presenters!

Richard on weekends is the only appointment l donāt likeā¦but obviously Nine still have faith in the veteran presenter!

Good team - Stevie didnāt need to do weather and was a mistake getting him back this year to be honest. Not sure about Dickie on WT.

Wilkins was seriously being considered as a contender for Steve Liebmannās job many years ago. There was a time when he was the primary fill in.
New-look Today show line-up
TODAY hosts Allison Langdon and Karl Stefanovic will be joined by a line-up featuring Tracy Vo as newsreader, Alex Cullen as sports presenter, Tim Davies as weather presenter, and Brooke Boney as entertainment presenter it was announced this morning.
The team will begin on-air on Monday, January 6.
Overseen by Director of Morning Television, Steven Burling, viewers will wake up to an entertaining and informative TODAY Show in 2020.
Steven Burling said: āAlly and Karl are quite simply two of the best news broadcasters in the country. Both have reported from conflict zones, they are more than comfortable going toe-to-toe against our most formidable politicians and quite honestly theyāre who youād turn to in times of breaking news, be it here in Australia or anywhere in the world. Importantly though, Ally and Karl also know how to have a good laugh, they both have an infectious, self-deprecating sense of humour that I believe will appeal to viewers and the rest of the on-air team.

On Weekend TODAY, Rebecca Maddern will join Richard Wilkins as hosts. Lara Vella will present news and cover Jayne Azzopardi while sheās on maternity leave. Lauren Phillips will present weather.
Rounding out the morning programming will be TODAY Extra, hosted by David Campbell and Sylvia Jeffreys. Belinda Russell will cover Sylvia while sheās on maternity leave.
The new line-up forms Australiaās most dynamic morning presenting team across the whole week, and comes after the announcement that Deb Knight will host Afternoons on 2GB/4BC, and Georgie Gardner will present weekend news.
Other members of the TODAY team will be leaving too; after reading TODAYās news in 2019 Tom Steinfort will re-join 60 Minutes for reporting duties, while Stevie Jacobs will be leaving the TODAY to pursue other interests, though we hope to work together on other projects soon.

I donāt know. It feels a bit hit and miss to me. Nine have thrown people together again and hoping it will work.
You have to remember the by-gone team was at least familar with the Today audience, in that nearly all of them had held permanent roles on the show before. This time there are a lot of new faces and Iām not sure they āresonateā as much as Burling implies.
I think it is more to do with finding a place they can lump Richard than faith. @NewsWeary I know he was grooming himself for Steveās role but there is a reason he didnāt get it.
I daresay, of that 2019 team, he was the most popular with viewers.

Good promotion for Rebecca Maddern although it means she will have to do FIFO every week, like Basil Zempilas used to do when he co-hosted Weekend Sunrise, as Becās husband and daughter still live in Melbourne (or Geelong?).
Watched a few minutes this morning.
Brett is simply boring. Alex not so good on presenting, keep him on sport, but I still think heās better at reporting. Tim, their future weather presenter, was a reporter on locationā¦ what better way to really confuse your audience?!
Youād have got good money a year ago on Brooke Boney being the only survivor into 2020.

@spw68 Heās doing the news. I think Burlo wants to mix up the presenters on segments. Instead of two hosts of the show doing the segments

I really would have expected them to go to the effort of group photo with the press release this time, try and demonstrate some chemistry there and a united front. This is not going to end well.
