Iâve been considering this too⌠is many options. I thinK adopt GMA? And do some really impactful promos with music that engages the viewer with key moments of news, fun, chemistry and today family.

Meanwhile, I was watching some old Ten News videos, and I thought Brad McEwen would be absolutely perfect for the sports role. He has got decent chemistry with Deb (presuming of course she stays on news), and I reckon would click instantly with Karl.
But I think I have better chances getting 100% on the VCE Legal Studies exam I have tomorrow than that even happening⌠
Yeah, thatâs why I liked Tim Gilbert there- there wasnât any of that childish bromance, but they still had good banter.
Tom has had a few chances on breakfast TV. He was host of Weekend Today before he was replaced by Peter Stefanovic and now he is doing the newsreading gig. The intention was always to âgrowâ him to replace Karl. But, @1169 I have a problem less with his personality but more so with his ability to read an autocue. Itâs awful. Heâs much stronger out in the field.
9 arenât affiliated with the ABC anymore so thatâs unlikely.
As far as Tomâs personality is concerned, who knows how the show plans to use him in a refreshed format?
US GMA and Today do really good jobs of handing the programs over to their supporting talent. The news reader and weather presenters are heavily used in the 2 and 3rd hours of the show. Today should utilize Deb and Tom heavily as leads throughout the last hour and let Karl/Ally scale back. It helps other personalities get exposure and familiar with the audience.
Nine could still use the gma theme with permission or for a fee⌠point taken though
GMA theme aside, another opportunity is to always refer back to the rich history of Nine News and bring it back to the forefront

hahah i have watched the TJ cavoodle dog food clip a few times⌠it is great comedy. They clearly hate each other. Quite hilarious⌠However, things shouldnât have been permitted to get to that point.
TJ needs to go on leave from the show. Get him off air.
Move the focus to Bushfire coverage.
Langdon will be in the field again today. Deb Night Tom and Brooke in the studio.
I believe weâre going to see Karl brought into Nineâs bushfires coverage at some point today. It may even be during Today.
It will be a huge day for Nine. Expect Today Extra to drop editorials and move to Nine News rolling coverage.
Iâm aware Seven will be doing rolling coverage anchored by Michael Usher.

I accept some of the comments about Tom. I think he will bounce of Karl if kept on the main show⌠Wick and Burlo have an out in Today Extra⌠so while my source says the team isnât changing, I believe when the screen testing is completed you might still see slight movements given Today Extra and Weekend Today vacancies.
If Tom is moved out over summer and doesnât return, who might be best to join the team?
As I mentioned previously, Iâd suggest Vicky Jardim. She has Melbourne links and has the right personality mix for breakfast. I think sheâd have great chemistry with the exisiting team.
There are many other options of course.

Unless things have changed, Vicky was always robotic whenever she read the Early News. Youâd need a strong and senior newsreader who is also capable of filling in for Karl/Allison. I thought you said Deb Knight was getting it?
Rob McKnightâs article said that he is on air for a few more weeks until he goes on scheduled leave.

Tuesday (12.11.2019) Wednesday (13.11.2019): Brooke Boney is co-hosting with Deb and Tom today. There is no host out in the field for the bushfires, despite conditions today being more severe.

Havenât seen Ally yet this morning.
I stand by the newsreader role moving to Deb Knight. I was observing that Wick and Burlo can choose another direction as nothing announced yet.
If Tom isnât on sport it could go to perhaps Cam Williams or someone from WWOS.

All breakfast shows benefited in the ratings yesterday with special coverage of the bushfire emergency. Despite still being more than 75k behind Sunrise, Today received its highest audience since mid-September and managed to exceed 210k metro viewers.
Perhaps it wasnât a wise decision not to have a host on the ground today.
