Itâs not just the Today Show, but the Nine brand as a whole has dwindled in Melbourne. Nine have let this market go over the years and itâs only recently that theyâre playing catch up to Seven. Sunrise comes across as a true national product.

Wednesday (01.05.2019): Tom Steinfort is co-hosting with Deb this morning. They are also reading the news.
Georgie is live from a home in Sydney where they are doing a renovation challenge for a struggling family. The catch is they need to be finished by 9am.
What has this show become? Meanwhile I noticed Kochie is not on Sunrise today (this week?) and Sam and Nat are hosting so theyâre directly going up against two females hosting now too.
Kochie has been off since last week
Generally, building work in Sydney canât start before 7:00am on a weekday. Someone must have put a DA in to the local council so they could start early.
Thought the same thing when turned the TV on this morning. Switched off straight away, I canât stand all of those renovation reality shows and donât want to see it incorporated into Today.

Reno rescues have been on ACA in the past and should remain on that show not on breakfast television.
Georgie said this morning about doing this Reno rescue lâve had some great highlights during my career on Today but this tops it.

Nothing wrong with the idea of helping a family, after all, breakfast is about connections with people. I just think it would have been suffice for Stevie to be at the home and do his weather crosses from there. Was it necessary to have Georgie (even though she would have offered more compassion) outside the studio? Also, inconsistencies again with both Deb and Tom reading the news this morning and not getting someone to fill the position. Either have a newsreader or not.
Today was only 25k between Sunrise yesterday, BTW and managed to peak over 210k.

This morningâs show had a strange vibe to it. Great to see that they are helping a family, but Georgie really shouldnât have been doing an OB from it. As it has been mentioned Steve should have been doing the weather from suburb in Sydney, not a co-host of the show.
Also it was strange that they didnât opt for a fill-in news presenter and just went with Deb and Tom.
They are clearly trying to soften Georgieâs image.
Next up will be a series of emotional interviews/reports with families doing it tough, cancer patients, local heroes etc. Give the segment a name, tie it in with a sponsored cash giveaway, maybe an OB or two and hey presto Georgieâs a saint again.
Why donât they just get Meshel Laurie on for an interview?
Weird thing is Iâve been on set a few times and one of the times Georgie was on and she was the only one to come up to me during the breaks and ask about me, so I like Georgie, I thought when she was brought back with Karl it would be great but I guess dynamics change over time?

Itâs going to be interesting to see what stupid stunt they come up with next to draw viewers to this show. Itâs a good thing Karl is no longer with the show. I have no doubt they wouldâve broadcast his vasectomy reversal live on breakfast television had he still been there.
Is that the only thing that could possibly bring viewers back? 
Remember they have their Top End Wedding Event coming up
Brooke is doing well hosting Today Extra this week, from the bits and pieces Iâve seen.

Yeah, Iâve seen her host Today Extra this week as well. To be honest, I still donât particularly like her, but thatâs just me.
