It does. There’s a perception that Today skews NRL heavy and people in VIC, Tas, SA, and WA couldn’t care less about league.

Exactly. Many people here (including myself sometimes) are so centred around the “Sydney & surrounds bubble” that they don’t realise that the rest of the country couldn’t care less about Sydney news unless it’s of national/international significance.
Since Today is a national program which airs for 3.5 hours a day, the approach taken to the content, presenters & On-Air Presentation needs to be completely different to the 4pm/6pm news bulletins where you can get away with a bit more blatant localism (although even then, I still have concerns about the approach TCN often takes to coverage of news in Regional NSW for their bulletins - but that’s for another time/thread).
I have never heard that before.
Interesting timing given Brenton was/ is due to return to the news desk on Monday.

Looks like Sam Burgess is taking the heat of Karl for while now. But they managed to somehow make an article which has nothing to do with him about him. 
First of all he’s a footballer, nothing will happen to him. second of all media have immediately gone on the woman’s side which seems to be a popular thing even though once again no one knows any details. People can’t divorce anymore without affecting their careers? Do the general public even care as much as the media telling us we do?
Is there a different style sponsor board being used for Today?
This one didn’t have the “PROUD SPONSOR” and Nine logo, and was almost full screen, whooshing in from the right to left of screen.

Steve Jacobs will be presenting the weather on Weekend Today this weekend.
It will be interesting to see if there will be live crosses to Richard Wilkins in LA on Monday for the Golden Globes. Or if they will just use Sam Rubin.

Watching A Current Affair the past few weeks, I actually wouldn’t mind Leila McKinnon returning to Today in some capacity.

It would be perfect timing too cause I’m assuming A Current Affair will be off for the two weeks of the Australian Open, allowing Leila to return to either Today or Weekend Today.
Tracy can then return to A Current Affair after the Australian Open.
