I didn’t consider Georgie. That would be the earliest a host has ever returned!
I’m starting to think we could be in for a big shock soon.
Has anyone considered that maybe Georgie herself might use this opportunity with the presenter line up changing to go into the bosses and ask to go back to nightly news?
Would be very interesting if she steps down and gives Deb the role. I think it would be best.
I doubt it will be Georgie, she arranged an extra 2 weeks at the start of her holidays to avoid the Karl wedding saga, so if she’d not had that extra 2 weeks then her original holidays would have only been 2 weeks. Seems unlikely.
I’d suggest Allison Langdon.

Plus Tim is co-hosting the Brisbane international next week, so he will probably do sport from Brisbane but someone different will be hosting I’d assume.

Well last week they said Tim was hosting for 3 weeks?
I’m wondering if there’s been a change of plan and they are doing Today from Brisbane and Sydney International too. Allowing a whole month of in studio renovations.
Plus she is working on radio for a few weeks doing Midday -3pm shift.

I think it’s a 12pm - 4pm shift in the summer.
Well tell Deb that then because she actually said 12-3pm in her instagram post.

Yep I just double checked.
The shifts are:
5:30am-9
9-12
12-4
4-8
8-12am
She won’t have long to prep for 6pm news.
Well maybe that’s why she is finishing at 3pm instead of 4pm.

TBH, I would’ve expected Deb to take a few weeks break from the 6pm news similar to what GG did over Summer when she was the 2nd in-line presenter.
I wonder if Chris Uhlmann is doing another stint this Summer!
Alison Langdon has done New Years week for a while now I think? Usually with Ben Fordham. It could end up being Tim and Lara.

It was a surprise to see Melbourne reporter/newsreader Dougal Beatty hosting but this time of the year always good to see young talent given an opportunity to work in a different format.

Tom Steinfort will likely be hosting Today next week with Allison or Jayne so they are having the weekend off.
He does. Davina Smith is also very talented and nice to see Mark not filling-in.
