Today (2015-Sept 2020)

Hopefully for Today, after altering their backdrop and having legendary Melbournian Pete Hitchener on board today, the gap will increase throughout the week.

The national figures were tighter ( more than 10,000 difference) yesterday than they have been of late.

Hope so. It was great having Hitch on this morning.

Long day for Peter Hitchener today. After reading the news on Today, he will be on Denis Walter program on 3AW at 12.30pm for his weekly segment, then prepare and read the 6pm Melbourne bulletin.

Is this Melbourne week controlled from TCN still or have they flown the control room crew to Melbourne too?

I really like this set. They should use the Sydney news set in this way for Weekend Today.

it is being switched out of TCN.

they can but the sydney set is connected to an automated MOSART system which makes thay difficult for weekend today.

I was under the impression that the set they use on Saturdays was fully automated as well?

not fully, only part MOSART which is the system. The sat studio is partly automated with cameras but thats about it and sunday is fully manual.

There’s something up with those cameras. Are they HD? Cause it seems very fuzzy and presenters appear visually flat (the focal length). Or maybe it’s just my TV?

Is this the same studio as today extra?

They must be using the “real” cameras from the other studio rather than the automated ones.

No.

Which program are you referring too?

Yes. Weekend Today is presented from studio 23 on Saturdays.

Tim Gilbert and Sylvia Jeffreys were in the Melbourne Park playing tennis. Richard Wilkins commentated the two players.

A significant improvement in the rundown for the weekend show today. An array of investigations, interviews, debate and lighter segments, with a focus on more serious agendas such as the NSW drought and a ‘special investigation’ into the Lindt Café Siege. The temporary E.P is doing a great job. Hopefully these serious and extended interviews enter the weekday show’s agenda.

There has also been some nice wide and sweeping shots of the studio, which is good to see.

They have also been altering the lighting behind Jayne, they should use it during the week. I much prefer the lighter orange tinge:

Or even yellow isn’t as much of an eyesore.
